US Senate Republicans’ attempt to prevent President Barack Obama from lifting the Iran sanctions is politically motivated and spearheaded by the Israeli lobby in the United States, says a political analyst in Texas.

New legislation, introduced by Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), is aiming to force Obama to provide a wide-ranging report on a possible military dimension of Iran’s nuclear program before sanctions are lifted at the beginning of the new year, The Hill reported.   Continue reading “Anti-Iran language by GOP ‘typed up in Netanyahu’s office’”

As if to promise a Christmas present, Congress has just finished approving the finances of the federal government for the next few months. Santa Claus would have done a better job. During early 2016, Congress will pay the government’s bills by borrowing money from individual and institutional lenders. Those folks will lend the feds all the money the feds need because the law requires the feds to pay them back.   Continue reading “Feds Still Owe the $30 Billion Woodrow Wilson Borrowed for WWI”

Rob Horn reports:

Under the maximization strategy known as Restricted Application, you could file for Social Security benefits at or after full retirement age (FRA), but elect to take only your eligible spousal benefits, allowing your individual benefits to grow until they max out at age 70. At that point, with a raise of up to 32 percent under your belt, you would switch to taking your individual benefits.

We knew it was coming to this. The GMO revolution wasn’t going to stop at our dinner table. But did we think it would happen so soon?

The first week in December, delegates from the top three gene-editing countries—China, the UK and the US—met in Washington, DC for a symposium on the future of gene-editing. For those not familiar with the parlance, gene editing refers to the ability to alter the DNA of an embryo in a manner which affects the germline. The germline is defined as follows; “In biology and genetics, the germline in a multicellular organism is that population of its bodily cells that are so differentiated or segregated that in the usual processes of reproduction they may pass on their genetic material to the progeny.”   Continue reading “First GMO Corn, Then Frankenfish, And Now — Get Ready For Designer Babies”

Syria has endured another year of devastating civil war and strife. However, thousands of civilians in Damascus have been trying to live as normal a life as possible, celebrating Christmas and giving them some respite from the chaos.

Things have not been easy for Christians living in Syria over the last five years since the outbreak of war. Persecuted like other religious groups by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), Christians in Damascus have been able to put the troubles to the back of their minds for at least one day, as they celebrate Christmas.    Continue reading “Christmas in Damascus: RT crew feels hope in air as Christians, Muslims join to celebrate”

Porter Ranch, CA — Methane gas continues spewing, unchecked, into the air over southern California from a fractured well to an underground storage site — at such an alarming rate that low-flying planes have necessarily been diverted by the FAA, lest internal combustion engines meet highly volatile gas and, well, blow the entire area to hell.

This is, indeed, the biggest environmental catastrophe since the BP Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010; and for now, there is no way to stop it.   Continue reading “Unstoppable California Gas Leak Being Called Worst Catastrophe Since BP Spill”

Concealed handgun permits held by residents of 25 states will no longer be valid in Virginia, the state’s attorney general said Tuesday, drawing swift criticism from GOP lawmakers.

Attorney General Mark Herring, a Democrat, said the state will revoke its reciprocity agreement with the states because their concealed weapon laws don’t meet Virginia’s standards. Those states hand out permits to people who are barred under the Virginia law, like fugitives, convicted stalkers and drug dealers, which undermines the state’s law and puts residents at risk, he said.   Continue reading “Virginia revokes handgun permit agreement with 25 states”

Terrorism experts and mainstream media pundits have spent the last few months since the Paris terror attacks speculating over what type of targets ISIS or their sympathizers would attempt to hit next.

Although the exact nature of the next attack is obviously unknown, “experts” all agree that the most likely place for such an attack would be so-called soft targets – department stores, movie theaters, restaurants etc.   Continue reading “Soft target dry run? The deliberations of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 were held in strict secrecy. Consequently, anxious citizens gathered outside Independence Hall when the proceedings ended in order to learn what had been produced behind closed doors. The answer was provided immediately. A Mrs. Powel of Philadelphia asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?”

With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.”   Continue reading “U.S. Senator Issues Dire Warning on Unchecked Executive Power”
