Barack Obama: We need to elect more women because ‘men are having problems’

The Telegraph – by Helena Horton

Barack Obama has called for more women to be elected to office because “because men seem to be having some problems these days.”

AFP reported that the former President made these remarks while talking to a private event in Paris on Saturday, and was referring to the sexual misconduct allegations made against many high-profile men.

He said: “Not to generalize but women seem to have a better capacity than men do, partly because of their socialisation.”

At the event, which was arranged by a network of communications professionals known as the Napoleons, Obama did not mention President Donald Trump.

However, he did mention a “temporary absence of American leadership” with regards to climate change.

His remarks about this inspired laughter in the room, which was packed with French CEOs and former ministers.

Despite this issue, he said the U.S. remains on track to meet its targets, became of o the action of some states, cities and because it made “business sense”.

The former president also criticised the EU, saying: “I think for example that the European Union needs to recognise that micro-managing every single aspect of life within Europe gets people frustrated.

“So there are ways of streamlining and improving the functioning of the European Union, but the European project itself, the Union itself is something that is worth preserving.”

Before speaking at the invitation-only event, the former President had lunch with President Emmanuel Macron in the Elysee palace.

Mr Macron told Reuters this was in a “private capacity” and as such there wasn’t an official photograph or information about what was discussed.

The two get along; Barack Obama gave his public support to the French President during the campaign, and Mr Macron has criticised Donald Trump after his decision to scrap the climate accord.

However, despite their differences, the US and French presidents have managed to maintain a polite and friendly relationship so far, after the 39-year-old leader made Trump the guest of honour of Bastille Day celebrations in Paris in July.

Mr Macron has said he still hoped to change the American president’s mind on the issue.

  1. We need to elect more women because men are having problems warming up to communist ideology and homosexuality.

  2. Who cares what Barry says? He’s no longer in office (Not like that gay, Kenyan foreigner was ever legally able to be in office in the first place).

    1. I kinda care, ’cause he’s a person of influence, not over independent thinkers, but over many mush-minds that look up to him. This is one more strike against men, wielded by a sugary war-monger. He speaks always with a false graciousness which covers his feminized communism and stabs at our sense of decency.
