Biden’s niece busted after roommate dispute

Biden’s niece busted after roommate disputeNew York Post – by Tara Palmeri and Jamie Schram

Joe Biden’s art-dealer niece went on a violent rampage at her luxury Tribeca apartment Tuesday — throwing punches at police officers and flailing “frantically” as cops wrestled her into handcuffs, sources said.

Caroline Biden, 26, went wild at about 9:15 a.m., “screaming at the top of her lungs” after her roommate confronted her about unpaid rent at their $3,500-a-month digs, sources said.

Cops soon arrived at Biden’s posh Desbrosses Street building — called the Truffles Tribeca — to investigate the situation. As a female officer filled out a report, the vice president’s niece demanded to see what she was writing, sources said.

“She said, ‘I want to see that,’” a witness said. “And when the officer didn’t show her the report, she lunged at her.”

Biden threw one punch at the female officer, and missed. A male officer intervened, and the pol’s niece started striking him with numerous small, slap-like hits on his arm and chest, sources said.

As the cops subdued her, she “flailed her arms frantically” to resist being handcuffed, cops said.

She was finally taken to the First Precinct station house, where she resisted going into a holding cell “by grabbing a police officer’s arm,” cops said.

Although Biden was described by a source as “highly uncooperative,” she was released with a desk- appearance ticket after being charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of government administration and harassment.

She then complained of difficulty breathing, and created another bizarre scene when she was taken out of the precinct by paramedics strapped to a rolling chair and covered nearly head to toe with a towel for an ambulance ride to Beth Israel Medical Center.

Biden, who works at the Higher Pictures gallery on the Upper East Side, was behind on her rent by several months, said Anne Marie Yacopetti, who sublet the apartment to her and another woman.

Biden’s father, James Biden Sr., is the financier brother of the vice president. He paid the security deposit in August 2013, when she moved into the luxury building.

Yacopetti’s mother, Marjie, claimed Caroline Biden said she would pay the outstanding rent “when she feels like it.”

“It’s unfortunate that she had to pay Caroline’s rent,” Marjie Yacopetti griped. “We’re just little white-collar people here,” she said, adding that her daughter moved back to California to save money. “If you’re an elitist Biden, I guess you think you’re owed the world.”

Caroline Biden’s other brush with the law, came in 2009, when she was briefly detained by Amtrak police, following a dispute over a train fare.

The vice president’s staff did not return a call or e-mail for comment.

    What a load of cr@p!!!

They obviously knew exactly who she was. Anyone not that connected would have been tased and beaten to a bloody pulp for such transgressions.

    Diplomatic immunity and all.
