Blue Öyster Cult – Then Came the Last Days of May

Blue Öyster Cult – what can I say? Probably my favourite band and one that I never tire of seeing live. This track, one of my favourites, comes from the tremendous debut album – “Blue Oyster Cult” released in 1973 and this Live version was later included on the LP “On Your Feet Or On Your Knees” in 1975. The band originated as a band called Soft White Underbelly (a name the band would later occasionally use in the 1970s and 1980s to play small club gigs around the U.S.) in 1967 in the vicinity of Stony Brook University on Long Island, New York. Manager Sandy Pearlman wanted the group to be the American answer to Black Sabbath. In 1975, a Melody Maker poll of critics voted Secret Treaties ( BOC’s 3rd studio LP ) as the “Top Rock Album of All Time.” The band have sold in excess of 25 million albums to date. Sadly, events ( such as my age and musical ignorance at the time!!! ) prevented me from seeing this amazing band till 1983. This is my small dedication to one of the finest live rock n’ roll bands ever to grace a stage.I have no copyright on the music, pictures or sleeve notes.
