Here is a very neat website where you can listen to your city/county/state police/fire/EMS transmissions just like a scanner, for FREE on your computer.
Go to the site, find the map, click on your state, then click on your county.
A list of possible feeds pops up and you can even choose what media player you want to use to listen with.
Great for laptops and you can put the feed in the back ground to listen to while you continue to surf the web, etc.
It’s called Broadcastify.
Enjoy.

Wish I knew about this before September’s diaper sniper state police drill! This could have been useful as well as entertaining.
I’ve been listening to that website for years now. It’s great if you like listening to a scanner. Look up “police codes” and print them out. It’s helpful while listening. I heard an ambulance down the street last month. I turned on Broadcastify. On the scanner I learned a motorcyclist crashed and broke his leg and ribs. I didn’t even get out of my computer chair to find out what was going on. It’s a great website.
I listen on holidays and when Im bored. Lots of people calling in drunks on the roads. Oh and old people slip and falls…
