NEW YORK (AP) — Thousands of years ago, a teenage girl toppled into a deep hole in a Mexican cave and died. Now, her skeleton and her DNA are bolstering the long-held theory that humans arrived in the Americas by way of a land bridge from Asia, scientists say.

The girl’s nearly complete skeleton was discovered by chance in 2007 by expert divers who were mapping water-filled caves north of the city of Tulum, in the eastern part of the Yucatan Peninsula. One day, they came across a huge chamber deep underground.   Continue reading “Ancient skeleton shedding light on first Americans”

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Florida jurors on Thursday rejected the insanity plea of a former military linguist and longtime Army officer’s wife, convicting the 53-year-old of first-degree murder for shooting and killing her 13-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter more than three years ago while her husband was deployed.

Julie Schenecker, dressed in a gray suit with a button-down pink shirt, wiped her nose and eyes, then the bailiffs handcuffed her as the verdict was read after just more than an hour of deliberations. She started to cry. She was sentenced soon after to two life terms, fingerprinted and led away to prison.   Continue reading “Florida mom guilty of killing her teenage children”

People suspicious of coercive power have been on the defensive recently—or, more accurately, their opponents want them to be on the defensive. The latest argument spouted by fans of a government potent enough to give you all you could want and give it to you good and hard is that any eyebrows raised at the prospect of such an expansive state are evidence of racism.   Continue reading “This Is the Number of Innocent People Murdered by Governments. If you think that as a United States citizen you’re entitled to a trial by jury before the government can decide to kill you–– you’re wrong. During his stint as a lawyer at the Department of Justice, David Barron was able to manipulate constitutional law so as to legally justify killing American citizens with drone strikes. If you’re wondering what the justification for that is, that’s just too bad – the legal memos are classified. Sounds a little suspicious, doesn’t it? What’s even more suspicious is that now theObama Administration wants to appoint the lawyer who wrote the legal memos to become a high-ranking judge for life.    Continue reading “Drone Lawyer: Kill a 16 Year-Old, Get a Promotion”

Two days ago Russia retaliated against US sanctions by banning the US from using the International Space Station after 2020, and by barring the use of Russian rockets as launch vehicles for US military satellites. Then, moments ago, a Russian Proton rocket, carrying Russia’s most advanced and powerful satellite on board, crashed on take off, during the activation of the third rocket stage some 9 minutes into the launch. Coincidence? Surely.   Continue reading “Rocket Carrying Russia’s Most Advanced Communications Satellite Crashes During Take Off”

I warned people years ago that this practice, that of seizing property without warrants or a hearing would lead to terrific abuses and would become “tax farming” and here we are, the feds and other agencies riding roughshod over people’s rights.  Senator Harry “Filthy” Harry understands what this is all about when his BLM lapdogs moved in on the Bundy property, and yet, he calls the Bundy people domestic terrorists.  And what is he?
