Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) claimed Wednesday that 90 percent of Americans support the universal background check gun control he introduced last week.
Thompson’s bill, H.R. 8, “Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021” expands retail point-of-sale checks to private sales as well, thereby criminalizing all private gun sales performed without an FBI background check. On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Making Money,” Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) stated that the coronavirus relief package is “the largest expansion of the welfare state since Lyndon Baines Johnson in the 1960s.”
Waltz said, “China continues to be the big winner here. I mean, at the end of the day, they unleashed this virus on the world. They covered it up. White House National Security Council adviser Roberta Jacobson mistakenly told migrants that the Southern border was open, during the White House press briefing on Wednesday.
During the briefing, Jacobson switched from English to Spanish and said, “la frontera no esta cerrada” (the border IS NOT closed). After a White House aide handed her a slip of paper later in the briefing, Jacobson corrected her statement to say, “la frontera esta cerrada” (the border IS closed). The Grace Church School in Noho — which offers academic courses for junior kindergarten through 12th grade — issued a 12-page guide to students and staff explaining the school’s mission of inclusivity. Taxpayers will now foot the bill for gender reassignment surgery for active military personnel and veterans, with some treatments costing upward of $200,000 under an executive order signed by President Biden.
Tucked inside Biden’s Jan. 25 transgender order, “Enabling All Qualified Americans to Serve Their Country in Uniform,” is a clause that repeals an Obama-era policy that prohibited federally funded reassignment surgery. This was followed up by memos from both Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough specifically stating that surgery is now an added benefit. House Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) vowed on Thursday to reintroduce gun reform legislation, while the House passed a second bill aimed at background checks within the last hour.
“No more hopes and prayers, thoughts and prayers—a vote is what we need,” said Schumer, vowing to bring a bill, H.R. 8, out of former Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s ‘legislative graveyard’ after it stalled in the Senate in early 2019 after passing through the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives. Goldman Sachs and Bank of America have made hundreds of millions of dollars from the recent electricity crisis and blackouts in the state of Texas. Similar scandal was created by Enron 20 years ago. Enron had made billions out of the electricity crisis in California.
Last month, the Texas electric grid failed due to the polar vortex blast. This resulted in unexpected fluctuations in electricity prices. A spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin said the Kremlin is concerned over a report from The New York Times that said the US is preparing a series of cyberattacks on Russia.
The Times report cited anonymous officials who said a “series of clandestine actions across Russian networks” are expected to start within the next three weeks.
