It Could’ve Been Much Worse: Florida Shooter’s AR-15 Jammed With 150 Rounds Left

Zero Hedge – by Tyler Durden

In the latest chilling report about the Parkland, Fla. high school shooting that claimed the lives of 17 people (14 of them teenage students), CNN reports that shooter Nikolas Cruz had at least 150 rounds of ammunition left in his AR-15 when he stopped shooting and fled Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. His gun had reportedly jammed, forcing him to end the assault.

If the gun hadn’t jammed, the death toll could’ve been much, much higher, CBS said.

Cruz had also reportedly etched swastikas into the sides of the magazines that contained the left over ammunition.

It’s still not clear why Cruz stopped firing when he did (though we imagine it’s possible that the firearm jammed). The news follows reports that Cruz attempted to shatter a hurricane window on the third floor in the school’s teacher’s lounge during the shooting. Had he been able to penetrate the window, it’s probable that he could’ve killed many more people, who likely wouldn’t have been able to ascertain where the bullets were coming from. Police have speculated that he might’ve used this stairwell vantage point to kill first responders who arrived on scene.

Meanwhile, CNN also disclosed that one of Cruz’s former neighbors, a woman named Joelle Guarino, said she tried to warn authorities about Cruz seven years ago, and that he began displaying troubling behavior as early as age 12.

The shooting has sparked a national debate over the role of military-style semi-automatic weapons and whether more restrictions should be placed on their availability.

Earlier today, Dick’s Sporting Goods announced that it was “going to take a stand” and announced it would permanently ban sales of AR-15s and other assault-style rifles from its stores – a move that could benefit rivals like Cabela’s.

Cruz exhibited many warning signs that were reported to both local, state and federal authorities, but in each instance, were promptly ignored.

The Florida Department of Children and Families investigated Cruz in 2016, and police records show deputies were called to his home more than three dozen times over a seven-year period.

Cruz had begun refusing mental health treatment about a year before the shooting. Jordan Jereb, the leader of white nationalist group Republic of Florida, had initially claimed Cruz was a member of his group but later walked back the claim and local law enforcement said there was no proof that Cruz and Jereb ever met.

  1. “…..had at least 150 rounds of ammunition left in his AR-15 …..”

Biggest magazine I’m aware of only holds 100…..but it doesn’t matter. They may as well say he had a few rockets to shoot, and grenades ready to be launched, while his Mom was working the bazooka.

  2. “If the gun hadn’t jammed, the death toll could’ve been much, much higher, CBS said.”

Especially at 30 rounds per half-second.

This, from another article I saw this morning…

“This is a ghost gun. This right here has the ability with a 30 caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Thirty magazine clip in half a second,” said Kevin de Leon (D-CA).”

WHERE THE HELL ARE THESE MORONS HATCHED?????

    1. It was probably a “fully semi-automatic” one at that, too! The thought of a thirty magazine clip just makes my head spin. Too much like time travel paradox…

        1. HAHA Yep! That’s the kind I am talkin” about. I feel like we’re competing in the special olympics but there’s no joy in winning in that. Man, watching that kike fag tuchman shoot an AR gave me some extra hope in advantage but but I know his kind will only be sending the goyim to do the dirty work. joos don’t’ work, fight or die! That’s for their goyim slaves and they educate them in murderous ways.

          Priceless.

  3. So here is what passes for informed journalism:
” It Could’ve Been Much Worse: Florida Shooter’s AR-15 Jammed With 150 Rounds Left ”
    AND:
” CNN reports that shooter Nikolas Cruz had at least 150 rounds of ammunition left in his AR-15 when he stopped shooting ”
    AND:
” His gun had reportedly jammed, forcing him to end the assault. ”
    AND:
” If the gun hadn’t jammed, the death toll could’ve been much, much higher, CBS said. ”
    AND:
” Cruz had also reportedly etched swastikas into the sides of the magazines that contained the left over ammunition.”
    AND:
” It’s still not clear why Cruz stopped firing when he did (though we imagine it’s possible that the firearm jammed). ”

From this, as it is written:
    1) His gun may or may not have jammed.
    2) The gun, (which may or may not have jammed) still contained (“left in his gun”) over 150 rounds of unfired ammunition.
    3) The separate magazines, which held the balance of the 150 left over rounds were not “in the gun”. ( The swastika claims have no merit in this case, unless he was a neo-nazi, which has not been claimed by ANYONE so far, although if this turns farther South on them, I’m certain it will become one of the talking point deflections).
    4) It is still not clear why Cruz stopped shooting.

So at this point, if we are to consider the reporting from CNN credible (HAHAHAHAHA), we know at least 3 things for certain (well, MAYBE for certain, we ARE talking about CNN):

    1) At some point, for some reason, Cruz left off shooting the weapon and left the premises without it or his extra ammunition.
    2) The weapon was either empty, or the likely standard 30-round magazine was partially full.
    3) The number of magazines was obviously NOT “uncountable” as was first reported, since 5 mags will hold 150 rounds.

The question that arises is this:
    Why did he stop shooting?
It is extremely likely this was a newer weapon, and was firing commercial ammunition. If the weapon DID jam, why did he not just clear the jam or the jammed mag and reload? If it DID NOT jam, there seem to be only 2 possibilities as to why he would cease fire:
    1) He felt a pang of remorse regarding what he had been doing, and wished to shoot no one else.
    2) When he stopped firing, either due to one or the other situations above, he still heard other shots being fired and realized he was being set up for the fall. He then un-assed the A.O. to avoid becoming another red spot on the floor.

    Howzat?
    Just like Columbo, eh?
    🙂

  4. Proof that he even killed ANYONE.. Vid of Cruz shooting any gun or anyone? I call BS on the whole thing. Just like Aurora, Sand Hook, San Bernardino with the first reports of multiple shooters , large men in full tach gear & face masks. then a convinenent ‘patsy’ pre-made to order.

  5. Proof also that it wasnt a “Military Grade Assault Weapon” like they are pushing constantly

AR-15’s are not designed for high output , eventually it needs to be lubed, as a gas impingement systems are hot and dirty , continued firing without some cooling and lube, it will malfunction ..just a matter of when

plus the tolerances and materials used in a true Military Grade weapon for assault , are a way different animal than a typ AR

  6. I’m still waiting to confirm the deaths from The Pulse…..out of 49 victims 23 bodies were immediately shipped back to Puerto Rico for private funerals. Of the dead ( not the injured ) only the bouncer lived close by. I need that confirmed.
