It’s against the law to carry a knife in England. As you would expect, knife crime is going up.

“Police recorded 26,370 offences in 2014/15, up from 25,974 the previous year,” the BBC reported on July 16.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife plans to shut down afternoon fishing on most rivers and creeks in Oregon, and prohibit fishing entirely on the lower Willamette River, in an unprecedented step resulting from statewide drought.

On July 16 the Fresno City Council voted to ban the Confederate flag from ever flying over city-owned property.

According to The Fresno Bee, the council’s vote was 4-0 “vote with two abstentions and one member absent.”

SAN FRANCISCO — California officials say more than half of new drivers’ licenses issued in the state this year have gone to people who are in the country illegally.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles reported Friday it has issued roughly 397,000 licenses under a state law that allows people who are in the country illegally to apply for licenses to drive.
