(JTA) — Thirty-six Jews have been arrested at a protest in front of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
The arrest on Sunday afternoon happened at the end of the protest outside of the Elizabeth Contract Detention Facility, organized by a new Jewish group called Never Again Action. Hundreds of Jews, mostly young people, attended the protest. Many of Never Again Action’s leaders are also involved with IfNotNow, a millennial Jewish group that opposes Israel’s occupation of the West Bank. Anyone who bought ebooks through the Microsoft Store is in for a rude shock in the coming days. The good news? You can get a refund. The bad news? All of your books are going to be deleted this month.
Microsoft announced in April that it would stop selling ebooks and that any books the company already sold would stop working in early July because the DRM servers were being shut off. Yes, you read that correctly. Those books that you “bought” are going to disappear. Even the “free” books that you downloaded through Microsoft will be deleted. Fannin County, TX — The Free Thought Project reported on a rather disturbing video last week showing a young mother getting attacked by a Texas deputy because she told him to get off her property. Although the incident happened on August 9, 2018, the video has only just been released causing a storm of backlash against the Fannin County Sheriff’s department.
After the video went viral, sheriff Mark Johnson was forced to respond to the much-deserved criticism his department is facing. Border Patrol officials in the Yuma Sector announced the building of an additional temporary migrant shelter in response to “sustained large volumes of family units in the Arizona sector. Sector officials opened the new shelter for tours late last week.

Iran has breached the limit on its stockpile of low-enriched uranium set under a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, according to sources. The breach comes less than a day after senior US allies of the White House had warned that Israel would strike Tehran as soon as the uranium limit was breached There is growing concern that now Iran had crossed the uranium red line, Israel could soon step up its military confrontation with a strike on Iran.

A left-wing agitator using the artwork and a pseudonym associated with a Rolling Stone and Playboy journalist has made serious threats to use muriatic acid for attacks conservatives at the upcoming Demand Free Speech rally on July 6 in Washington DC, according to Big League Politics.
“I just want to toss as many balloons of Muriatic acid in the faces as many Proud Boys I can [sic],” wrote the user “POUND ON YOUR BOY” on a popular right-wing Telegram channel, prompting event co-organizer Enrique Tarrio to contact the FBI and DHS, who will now assist with security at the event. A freak summer hailstorm struck the Mexican city of Guadalajara early Sunday, burying cars and blanketing streets in a thick layer of ice.
Local newspaper El Informador reported that more than 1 meter (3.28 feet) of ice covered parts of the city. In addition to burying cars, the storm damaged 457 homes in Guadalajara and the district of Tlaquepaque.

Salmonella linked to papayas imported from Mexico have infected dozens of people in at least eight states in the last six months, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

At least three people were arrested and several others were reported injured, as members of Antifa and other leftist groups clashed with members of the Proud Boys and other conservatives around downtown Portland, Ore., on Saturday, police said.
One of those injured was Andy Ngo, a conservative writer who appeared to have been attacked by Antifa members, the Oregonian reported. Ngo later posted a photo of himself from a hospital, with bruises, cuts and scratches on his face.
