NAPLES, FL (The Naples Daily News) – A 24-year-old man is in the Collier County Jail after one woman died and another was injured in an early Sunday morning shooting outside an East Naples bar, authorities said.

Carlos Ruben Rodriguez, of the 4500 block of Gulfstream Drive, is charged with murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Sunday.

636213137654363880-Carlos-Ruben-RodriguezAt about 1 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the Break Time Lounge at 4630 Gulfstream Drive to investigate a report of a shooting.

Deputies found two women with gunshot wounds.

Cassandra Santos, 26, of Massachusetts, was treated at the scene by paramedics for a minor gunshot wound to her left elbow and released.

Kelsey Engelsen, 24, address unknown, was taken to NCH Baker Hospital Downtown, where she died from her injuries, the news release stated. An autopsy was pending.

A motive for the shooting was unclear Sunday afternoon. Detectives said there was an argument involving several people, including Rodriguez, in the back parking lot of the bar.

Rodriguez ran from the scene and barricaded himself in his nearby residence. He was taken into custody by members of the CCSO SWAT team.

Detectives said they recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.
