An elderly cancer patient living alone with nothing to eat dialed 911 because he was hungry, and luckily got the attention of a good samaritan.
According to WTVD, 81-year-old Clarence Blackmon spent the past few months in the hospital for cancer treatment, but when the North Carolina resident got home he found nothing to eat. With no one to call for help, Blackmon dialed 911.
“I can’t do anything. I can’t go anywhere. I can’t get out of my damn chair,” Blackmon said in his 911 call.
On the other side of the phone was operator Marilyn Hinson, who took pity on Blackmon, and she promised to bring him a few groceries.
“He was hungry,” Hinson said. “I’ve been hungry. A lot of people can’t say that, but I can, and I can’t stand for anyone to be hungry.”
Hinson and a few Fayetteville police officers dropped the food off personally, bringing a head of cabbage, cans of beans, vegetables, snacks, and a few things to drink.
Blackmon told reporters he’ll start having a nurse stop by twice a week to check up on him.
I’m fricken speechless .
Good to know there are still good people in this world , especially with all that is going on
“81-year-old Clarence Blackmon spent the past few months in the hospital for cancer treatment,…”
Lucky he survived THAT.
Dammit, just you think all pigs are bad, they go and do something like that. Although I’ll betcha those two boys in uniform were out later that day abusing someone’s rights and bustin’ heads.
Maybe not as I said before not all are evil.
