ROMULUS, Mich. (WJBK) –Another chapter in the Romulus Police Department scandal comes to a close.

A Wayne County Circuit Court judge sentenced former police chief Michael St. Andre to five to 20 years in prison.

St. Andre reached a deal with prosecutors, he pled “no contest” to charges of running a criminal enterprise and misconduct in office.

An investigation uncovered drug forfeiture money being used to pay for prostitutes, alcohol and marijuana.

The former chief was also accused of embezzling money to get a tanning salon for his wife.

She’s already been sentenced to seven to twenty years in prison.

Three other police officers who pled “no contest” in the corruption case are set to be sentenced later this month.

  1. how much you want to bet he’s out in less than 5

he IS part of the criminal element that is law enforcement , they always look out for their own

he will end up back in some kind of “public” service ..mark my words

  2. “An investigation uncovered drug forfeiture money being used to pay for prostitutes, alcohol and marijuana.”

I didn’t know cops paid for any of that. Alcohol and marijuana are simply confiscated, and prostitutes are raped.

But we are getting another glimpse into how all of that seized money is never even considered to be given back to who they stole it from.

  3. It’s just like in Star Trek: the Romulan Empire. I bet he’s out in five years or less, or better yet, his “sentence” is either suspended or “pardoned”.
