Governor Sandoval: Send in the Guard

By now most people are familiar with the potentially deadly situation emerging at the Bundy ranch in Nevada. Right now, the back-story is not nearly as important as the immediate necessity to de-escalate this life-and liberty threatening situation, although it does play an important role and must be addressed. The fact that this situation could have been pulled from the script of the 1974 movie Chinatown or any of the Godfather movies is well known and must be exposed, but not before immediate action is taken to assure the preservation of life and liberty.

The current critical nature of the crisis cannot be understated. In alleged response to a 20 year-old battle over “illegal cattle grazing,” along with a more recent claim related to ostensibly protecting the allegedly endangered desert tortoise, the federal Bureau of Land Management has been dispatched to the Bundy ranch. Do not be fooled by the innocuous sounding name of this federal agency, however, as the deployment now consists of some 200 heavily armed federal troops, transported by military troop carriers and equipped with sniper rifles and other military armaments. It is an army by any other name.

Meanwhile, in response to this show of force, armed members of patriotic militias are rallying around the Bundy ranch en masse to protect the rights of a rancher and his family. Clearly, the lines of battle are being drawn. Patriots and militias appear to be preparing to square off against this federal army who are present in numbers undeniably disproportionate to any perceived or actual threat.

As the scene of the battle begins to take form, the situation is needlessly and recklessly being permitted to escalate in words and deeds. Today, Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins threatened the patriotic militia members rallying around the Bundys by publicly stating that those planning to travel to Nevada in their support “better have funeral plans.” Clearly, these are fighting words and an obvious escalation to an already volatile situation.

As those words were being spoken, snipers equipped with high powered rifles with scopes continue to train their weapons on American citizens. As that threat now begins to reverberate throughout the nation, federal troops are getting into position to launch whatever offensive that is being planned by federal bureaucrats , merely waiting for the “go” signal. The situation is deadly and deadly serious.

Should the desert sand in the state of Nevada be stained by the blood of either the protestors or federal troops, or the patriots or tyrants, there will be hell to pay. Hell that can be immediately and effectively avoided by the actions of one man who has so far appeared to do nothing but pay lip service to this crisis. That man is Brian Sandoval, the governor of the state of Nevada, who has the power and authority to mobilize the Nevada National Guard and intervene before any shots are fired.

It cannot be overstated that as minutes turn to hours and hours into days, the situation is escalating. The citizens of Nevada are facing a federal army, a heavily armed and well-equipped army turned inward against its own citizenry. Although there is ample and brave resolve by the patriots making a stand, they are at a clear disadvantage as they face this well-equipped and well-trained federal army.

Considering the threats of deadly force made by an elected official and the obvious show of force present in the form of a federal army, it is imperative that the force sent by Washington is met with equal force by the man elected to protect the citizens of Nevada. Considering the escalation of a potentially deadly situation, the governor must use his authority to send the Nevada National Guard to meet the federal army, confiscate their weapons, and escort them to the state line. He must assert his right as the governor and act on behalf of his people.

Failure to act is a failure to protect and serve the citizens of Nevada. Failure to take this most appropriate action will forever stain his hands with the blood of the innocents. Failure by the governor of Nevada to evict the federal army from his turf is to cede his power to an out-of-control federal government. Failure to act will not only result in the loss of life, but the loss of liberty.

At the Bundy ranch, this is a battle of arms and wits between volunteer patriots who love the United States, and taxpayer funded punks who are regarded as nothing more than expendable cannon fodder by the bureaucrats who sent them. The former understand that the results will have an impact far beyond the Bundy ranch-that the stakes are extremely dire for all ranchers in the United States. So too must every American who is concerned for the future of our country.

While the obvious show of force is at the ranch, the real battle is at a much higher level. This is a battle between executives where the winner will lock in their position for the future. This is a battle for state’s rights, a concept antithetical to the federal government, especially under the current regime.

Perhaps most significant of all for the future of America, failure to mobilize the Nevada National Guard and evict the federal army from Nevada will underscore the purpose of state militias. In the conspicuous absence of the Nevada National Guard and the lack of will of the governor to use them to protect the lives and liberty of his citizens and state’s rights, the value and necessity of state militias will become abundantly clear.

In fact, it already has. Now, send in the guard and start the eviction process.

  1. As my prayers go out for the patriots and the Bundy family., I also pray that the governor will do the right thing. God bless the patriots and God bless this country. Time to grow a set Mr. Sandoval !!!

  2. I don’t see how sending in the guard will help anything, and I don’t know why the author is so sure that the national guard will “evict the feds” rather than turn on the militia.

I know what they’re supposed to do, but since we haven’t seen any positive response on the part of the governor or the Sheriff, I don’t see how providing them with an army is so assuredly beneficial to our cause.

I don’t think we need the guard there, and we definitely don’t need all the militia present to be unarmed, and standing around in a protest camp making one nice target out of all of them.

I think the militia men should keep their guns ready at all times, remain ready for action themselves, and most of all, get off the ranch and surround the BLM thugs rather then being one nice, concentrated target.

  3. Well we know the government of Nevada is all run by H.Ried, Why has no one started a recall petition for these orifices, starting with Gilespie the county sheriff. And the county commissioner for terroristic threats. I can not leave my family unprotected and I can not put them in harms way by bringing them. However let the fed’s make this a shooting war and my Oath I swore in 1977 will be honored!!!!
