Group Claims Armed Citizens Have Killed More Americans Than All Wars Combined

Breitbart – by AWR Hawkins

On September 21 Americans for Responsible Solutions–the gun control group founded by Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly–tweeted numbers from the Center for American Progress Action Fund (CAP) claiming armed citizens in America have killed more people since 1989 than all wars since 1776 combined.

The tweet contains a meme which says, “The number of deaths from gun violence just since Reagan’s presidency is higher than the number of soldiers killed in combat in all of U.S. history.”

CAP then claims “gun-related deaths in the United States from 1989 to 2014 [were] 836,290,” and claims the “total U.S. military killed in war from 1776 to 2015 [was] 656,397.” The problem with the way CAP presents this–and Americans for Responsible Solutions rewteets it–is not that the gun deaths are exaggerated, but that the military deaths are much, much higher than CAP reports.

In fact, gun deaths are actually dwarfed by military deaths.

Think about it–the figure for gun deaths represents a rough average of slightly more than 10,000 fire-related homicides a year and 20,000 firearm-related suicides a year over a 27-year period. This gives CAP a figure of 836,290 firearm-related deaths from 1989 to 2015. To make that number appear more pronounced they quote military deaths since 1776 at 656,397 without explaining how they overlooked the fact that approximately 600,000 were killed in the Civil War alone.

In fact, if we take deaths from the Civil War–600,000, and add the deaths from World War I–approx. 115,000, World War II–418,000, Korea–35,000, and Vietnam–58,000, we are already at 1,226,000 American deaths and we haven’t even added the deaths from the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Spanish / American War, Desert Storm, Afghanistan, Iraq, and others.

The bottom line–gun deaths in America do not come close approaching the number of deaths our men and women in uniform have suffered while fighting for our freedom. The figure CAP provided for all military deaths from 1776 to 2015 barely covered the deaths in the Civil War alone.

  1. These people are trippin’ to put it euphemistically. The fact that people can’t grasp reality is telling. Did they learn outcome based counting? Are they all on SSRI’s? Or is there something I’m missing?

The cost of dumbing down populations goes far beyond math and science. People have actually forgotten how to live, exist, and be human to one another. Once common among all that wished to survive.

Elemental knowledge…The “School Of Hard Knocks” is seldom forgiving. So you learned or died. It seems we’re coming full circle. I’m not pulling a “Rodney King” or the like by saying that. The aforementioned is the reason “an armed society, is a polite society,” was penned back when. It seems these psychopaths want a return to this under the mistaken notion that they’ll seize control of the masses and make them subservient.

Human nature doesn’t work like that. The psychos haven’t figured this out yet. The time approaches where we’ll need the discernment of sizing up an individual instantly and acting accordingly, but the family here at FTTWR is well aware of this.

Invest in rope, the ammo is gonna get low…

May you all keep in good health and spirits…..

  2. This is another typical example of gun-grabbers twisting the numbers and misrepresenting what they actually mean.

Most of what they call “gun violence” is the result of armed Americans defending themselves from home invasions and other crime, and that happens 2 million times per year. Guns prevent far more crimes than they’re responsible for, and that’s been proven too many times by criminologists using statistical data honestly.

More soldiers are injured than are killed, so if your leg was blown off in Iraq, the gun grabbers didn’t count you in their BS statistics.

I hope a lot more Americans are killed by guns. Namely the gun-grabbing Jews that are trying their hardest to destroy this country, and disarm us so they can kill us too. History provides too many examples of their genocidal agenda for any American to even consider parting with a firearm.

Keep your guns, or you’re dead. If you don’t study history, you’re doomed to repeat it, and the history of genocide ALWAYS begins with the identical “gun control” agenda that we’re seeing in America today, always accompanied by promises that the victim population will be “more civilized” as a result of it.

    1. “Group Claims Armed Citizens Have Killed More Americans Than All Wars Combined”

And how many of this “group” are Jews? Who funded them?

  3. “Abby-Dabby Gabby”. The cute little puppy who will respond to treats for the adoring fans of the Gun Control Lobby. “Look Gabby, guns are bad.” “Arf, Arf!” “Good girl, here’s a treat.”

“I’m Mark Kelly. I’ll keep my assault rifle and other guns cause I’m not “one of them” to be disarmed.” (Obvious sarcasm on my part)

    1. Hey Paul, remember when they started their gun control crusade and then the Giffords were “busted” buying an assault rifle? Hypocrisy at it’s finest!

      1. Yes Millard, I remember. Hope your well up there. Not looking forward to winter brother. I’ll keep my weapons, thank you very much. 😡

        1. Yes Paul, BNSF Railway shutdown looms as another fear-mongering statement. However, if they did shutdown, the result would be devastating food and heating fuel shortages, there would be riots in the streets in a week. Stay locked and loaded brother, we’re at war. Take no prisoners.

          1. So, when’s the “opener” for hunting season? Oh, this here AR-15, well, it’s work’s great for squirrels and such. Try some squirrel hamburger! 😆

  4. What?……WOW!!….Raving mental cases who are badly in need of help!
CAP does graze my thoughts. Maybe CAP can help them

  5. While the author is obviously right to call BS on the phony statistics, he ends up spouting some BS of his own:

“The bottom line–gun deaths in America do not come close approaching the number of deaths our men and women in uniform have suffered while fighting for our freedom.”

No doubt I’m preaching to the choir here, but the hideous lie that “our” troops “defend our freedom” never fails to turn my stomach. This lie is incredibly dangerous, yet it’s so deeply entrenched in the brainwashed minds of Americans that I wonder if the truth has any chance of overcoming it.

We barely even have any freedom left to defend, and it’s not because of the Viet Cong, the Iraqis, the Taliban, Iran, or any other foreign boogeyman. Even the hypothetical combined forces of these foreigners couldn’t hope to successfully invade and occupy the US — not even if we lacked our nuclear deterrent.

Clearly, then, these foreign bugbears aren’t the ones imposing and enforcing unjust and unconstitutional laws here in our fascist “homeland.” It’s the US government and its pig enforcers — backed up by the US military — who are responsible for destroying the Bill of Rights and turning the US into a “homeland security” state.

It’s true that a very large and growing fraction of Americans are beginning to recognize the danger posed by the growing police state. But how many of those same Americans, having lost trust in the federal government and the corrupt US political system, continue to “support the troops” — the same troops who obey corrupt politicians and officials without a peep of public protest? One suspects that the typical “conservative” American gun owner will continue to “support the troops” when “our” troops are helping the pigs confiscate citizens’ guns and put them into camps. (Some of the “Oath Keepers” might refuse those orders, but then they’ll passively stand aside and watch their obedient comrades do the dirty work. Then those Oath Keepers will congratulate themselves on upholding their oath even though they are doing no such thing. If they’re afraid to defend the Constitution now, they’ll be just as afraid when tyranny becomes even more overt.)

Pardon the long and off-topic rant, but I felt the need to vent…

  6. These crack smoking morons really expect people to buy into this bullsh!t? Of course, they lump in every single possible death related to a firearm, including those that died as a result of being a criminal that were shot in defense of someone else’s life. Utterly moronic.

  7. “The number of deaths from gun violence just since Reagan’s presidency is higher than the number of soldiers killed in combat in all of U.S. history.”

Even if that WERE true (NOT!), it wouldn’t even BEGIN to compare to the number of deaths attributable to BIG PHARMA in that same period of time.

  8. “On September 21 Americans for Responsible Solutions–the gun control group founded by Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly–tweeted numbers from the Center for American Progress Action Fund (CAP) claiming armed citizens in America have killed more people since 1989 than all wars since 1776 combined.”

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! A group founded by Gabby Giffords. Well, we all know her claims and figures are highly accurate. 🙄 (sarcasm)

    Unfrigginbelievable…..
