I tell ya what , Hydroponics suck. Hydroponics is part of the reason a tomatoe doesn`t taste like a tomatoe now day – and if ya grew up in the 60`s and 70`s then ya`l know what I`m sayin`. This hydroponic BS is what those places like Monsantoe and the DOW chemical Co. want ya`ll to buy into. The original people into Hydroponics were the marijuana growers back in the late sixties and early seventies. I know because I was with some of them bastards. Ya all wonder why a tomatoe doesn`t taste like a tomatoe anymore? , then just think hydroponics. Hydroponics does work but it isn`t good for ya and it isn`t what them people profess it like it is. This video is like a damn info comercial. Think about it guys. Hydro realy does suck anyway ya look at it. Period……..P.S. Aqua culture seems to bee pretty cool but like I said hydroponice realy does suck. Check out Aquaculture before hydorponics.
Good Cathleen. Heirloom seeds are the way to go, but don`t ya think that if ya use heirloom seeds but still use those chemical fertilizers that those chemical fertilizers kind of discredits useing heirloom seed. Those seeds are still better than those GMO seeds but if you are going the distance then why not go the full distance. It is expensive doing that hydroponics with them pumps and thoes chemical fertilizers and not to mention the the indoor lighting that most people use with hydroponics – the lighithing is not all that necessary but most that use hydroponis do use indoor lighting, I mean if your are going to use hydroponics then you are probobly useing a greenhouse or a indoor setting so therefore you will be spending a ton of money on the lights 🙂 . Think about the cost. Hydroponics does suck. Hydroponics does work but not realy all that good when ya think about how much the cost involved in running it. If you are not growing pot it is realy not very profitable and you would be economically better off buying organically growen food from the farmers market. P.S. I’m with you there. I grow my food in real live dirt. I refuse to smoke hydroponically grown smokable stuff too. Only dirt will do for me.

My sister grows tomatoes hydroponically using heirloom seeds. They taste great! To each his own.
Aquaponics is another great way to go.
