Iconic Wrestler The Ultimate Warrior Has Passed Away At The Age Of 54

(PCM) News that is sending shock waves through the world of pro-wrestling is that iconic wrestler The Ultimate Warrior has passed away at the age of 54.  The Ultimate Warrior, whose real name is James Brian Hellwig, had just appeared on Monday night RAW and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during Wrestlemania this past weekend.  

According to a statement found on the WWE’s official website “WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.We are grateful that just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and was also able to appear at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his legions of fans”.

Warrior’s immediate cause of death has not yet been revealed at this time. Sources who were on the scene claim that Warrior collapsed when exiting an Arizona hotel and was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Hellwig as The Ultimate Warrior began his wrestling career back in 1987 and rose his way to the top, becoming one of the biggest names in the WWE’s history. One of his most memorable matches was defeating Hulk Hogan for the WWE Championship title during Wrestlemania VI. He legally changed his name to Warrior back in 1993 and then went on to officially retire in 1998. Prior to his retirement he did some work for WWE’s rival, World Championship Wrestling and competed in his last match back in 2008.

Warrior is survived by his wife Dana and two daughters. Our sincere condolences go out to the Warrior’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

  1. I guess the steroids finally kicked in or Vince McMahon slipped him a drug. McMahon gets away with murder from what I hear and he had no love for the Warrior even though they slightly reconciled and he got into the Hall of Fame. Sucks to hear that he passed away. He was a great wrestler.
