If This Bill Becomes Law, Arizona Is About To Throw A Major Wrench Into President Obama’s Agenda.

This Wednesday, the Arizona House of Representatives passed House Bill 2368, sponsored by Representative Bob Thorpe, R-Flagstaff. If signed into law, the bill would prohibit Arizona from funding any executive orders issued by President Obama.

According to the state legislature’s fact sheet, there are only two provisions to the bill:

  1. Prohibits this state or any of its political subdivisions from using any personnel or financial resources to enforce, administer or cooperate with an executive order issued by the President of the U.S. that has not been affirmed by a vote of Congress and signed into law as prescribed by the U.S. Constitution.
  2. Prohibits this state or any of its political subdivisions from using any personnel or financial resources to enforce, administer or cooperate with a policy directive issued by the U.S. DOJ to law enforcement agencies in this state that has not been affirmed by a vote of Congress and signed into law as prescribed by the U.S. Constitution.

In a scathing–yet somewhat sarcastic–Arizona Republic column, author Laurie Roberts writes,

[Arizona] leaders are marching ever closer to declaring our independence from the United States of America.

However, the bill was apparently so uncontroversial in the Arizona House that, according to Roberts, only one representative spoke against it on the floor: Democrat Bruce Wheeler from Tucson.

The legislation passed along party lines in a 36-24 vote, sending it off to the Senate. Roberts continued in her article:

…is one of a series of kooky measures aimed at declaring [Arizona’s] independence from federal gun laws, from the Affordable Care Act, from the Environmental Protection Agency, from the Department of Justice, from Barack Obama and from just about anything else associated with the state’s most detested f-word. Federal, that is.

Although there wasn’t a lot of backlash on the House floor, many took to Twitter to express their grievances.

  1. It’s a step in the right direction, but I hope they’re ready for Obama to send in troops to enforce his royal edicts.

  2. Smart cons, these Globalists. To break up the country into more manageable zones they create a federal government that is intolerable and illegal. State by state, the country voluntarily breaks away and forms smaller regions — no force necessary.

  3. So….Texas rejected Barry and he sends HAARP and floods. What will the wannabe king do to Arizona if this passes? I’ll be really happy if Arizona actually went in and arrested that treasonous piece of shit McCain in one of their town hall meetings. Now THAT would be a huge start and support from my end. How he is still senator is beyond me. It’s obvious the people of Arizona all hate him. So what are they waiting for? Hang his ass!
