Israeli forces shot dead a man who was participating in a protest rally in the West Bank to demand that Israel halt its deadly onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

According to reports, clashes erupted between the protesters and the Israeli forces in the village of Hussan, near the city of Bethlehem, early on Wednesday.

The Palestinian man was identified as Mahmud al-Hamamra. The 32-year old man was shot in the chest by the Israeli forces as they tried to disperse the protesters.

Protesters called on the international community to break its silence in relation to Israel’s acts of violence against Gazans.

Israeli forces also fired tear gas at the Palestinian protesters in Bethlehem on Tuesday, wounding several people.

Similar protests were also held in the West Bank cities of Ramallah and Nablus, where demonstrators gathered to express their solidarity with the people of Gaza and to condemn Israel’s ongoing aggression.

On Monday, a Palestinian man was killed by an Israeli settler in the West Bank.

Tensions have been running high in the West Bank because of the ongoing Israeli offensive on the besieged Gaza Strip.

Since the deadly Israeli war on Gaza started on July 8, many demonstrations have been held across the world in support of the Palestinians living in the blockaded strip.

So far, more than 647 people have been killed and over 4,000 others injured by the Israeli regime.
