Lockdown At Exxonmobil Refinery In Baytown After Security Breach

ABC 13 News

Company officials say around 7:30am, a person went inside the plant without permission.

“We take matters of this nature very seriously and are working closely with Baytown Police Department,” says Todd Spitler, spokesman for Exxon Mobil.

An abc13 news crew saw Baytown Police at the scene, but the officers have since left.

Eyewitnesses inside the refinery tell abc13 they were evacuated and are being kept inside a lunch tent.

The company says it began its active security measures in response to this incident, prompting the lockdown at the plant.

This is the same refinery where a major fire broke out on Thursday, sending a massive plume of smoke into the air.

At this point, it’s still not clear what started the fire.

  1. “At this point, it’s still not clear what started the fire”, nor will it ever be revealed to you pleebs! Shut your trap, zip your lips, that’s all your going to hear on the matter.

Oh, did you hear, the sun’s gonna rise tomorrow! War in Iraq, starving in the streets, women faking orgasms, it’s all gone to hell in a hand basket!

  2. As long as the company really takes these incidents seriously after the unforeseen happenings and will now activate security measures after the fact then everything should be OK. I’ll meet you in the lunch tent and hopefully no uninvited will appear unexpectedly.Really I’d hate to be locked down in the lunch tent as I’m going on a permanent vacation from all the insanity.
