Major development in Bunkerville cattle battle

Ammon Bundy, Cliven's son speaks to supporters.8 News Now

LAS VEGAS — A major development is percolating in the showdown at the Bundy ranch in Bunkerville, Nevada — a possible deal is in the works. It’s an 8 News Now exclusive.

The I-Team has learned that a tentative deal has been brokered by Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie to de-escalate the tense standoff between rancher Cliven Bundy and his supporters and the Bureau of Land Management.

Sources tell the I-Team that Sheriff Gillespie has negotiated a potential agreement in which the BLM would halt its roundup of Bundy’s cattle and withdraw its employees from the Gold Butte area.

The BLM wants to proceed with the sale of the cattle already gathered during the roundup but is reportedly willing to share the revenue from the sale with Bundy.

Sheriff Gillespie has been negotiating with Bundy behind the scenes for months and may have reached a tentative agreement Friday night, though Bundy insisted the sheriff come to his ranch to finalize the arrangement face-to-face.

The two men agreed to meet this morning to discuss the agreement prior to a public announcement, which could come at 9 a.m.

8 News NOW is following this developing story and will update it online as more information becomes available. 8 News NOW has a news crew in Bunkerville who will have a live report at 6 p.m.

  1. So they are going to go the Red Beckman “deal” scenario. Beckman woke up a week after they told everyone to go home cause he had “one uh dem speeciell deels, yup.The shiesters are going to promise that “as long as the sun shines and the rivers flow great white father will promise not to break any DEAL,LOL!” Only an idiot or fool would believe this BS and go along with it. What a crock of SHIT! Slaves will be corporate slaves. Yehaaaaaaaa!!!! So much for that “cow-BOY” BS. Pollo shirts and designer jeans. (and ain’t those perty cow-BOY boots?) Oh well kids, we’ve seen this all before. Liberty1775

  2. Yesterday, I read that case from over in Nye County, NV – the BLM vs Wade Hage [1998] – it sheads a very very interesting light on this Bundy case that the media is clearly avoiding – and I believe the two cases were started at the same time for the same initial reasons [but held apart which is also suspicious – See also; Elko Co. in northern NV right now – same thing from back then] – probably a little too complex for the average (non-legalese) reader and/or reporter – but suffice to say; in my personal opinion, I don’t think it was ever about any turtles or grazing fees – This really smacks of the “Tule Elk reserve” Al Gore ripoff stunt in California, back in the Clinton years

  3. Something smells bad here. Guess time will tell. This was too easy, and too orchestrated. Don’t like what I’m feeling. When it’s too good to be true, it usually isn’t true.

  4. This was probably a dummy run to see where the information gets out, the responses to that information and what they can do to contain it so when they try something similar in the future, it goes more smoothly and without public attention or backup! We are controlled, run and influenced by pure evil and we need to clean out the entire system!!! God bless us all…

Hey BLM “You didn’t build that!” , go get screwed!
You steal another man property, want to sell it, with…the “offer to Share” proceeds with him? What a**-holes!
