Massive Numbers of Anchovies Die in Santa Cruz Harbor

A large clean-up effort is underway as harbor employees and volunteers work feverishly to remove dead anchovies that are rapidly floating up from the bottom. The confined area of the harbor simply could not afford enough oxygen for the massive numbers of fish — in spite of the numerous aerators working around the clock in hopes of preventing just such an event.
