Miami Herald

As many as 10 people were shot Tuesday morning, killing two according to Miami police.

Several people were taken to the hospital and two people died in the shooting outside an apartment building, Miami police spokeswoman Frederica Burden said.

One of the victims was a teenage girl, according to early reports.

Up to seven of the wounded were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where several are undergoing surgery.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. at Northwest 12th Avenue and 65th Street in Liberty City. Northwest 12th Avenue is shut down between 65th and 67th streets.

Dozens of markers indicate bullet casings along the ground and on the walls of the apartment building.

Police are asking for help with information on the case and in identifying any suspects.

“We are not going to speculate,” Burden said.

This bulletin will be updated as more information becomes available.
