Mid-East Peace: Israel Declares They Will Give Up Land for Peace With The Palestinians

World Events and the Bible

Tuesday July 30th 2013 peace talks kick off in Washington between Israel and the Palestinians. Which is something we have not witnessed in a long time. Israel appears to be trying to make everyone happy. On July 23rd they gave the Vatican control above King David’s tomb on Mount Zion. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just announced he will try to release 104 jailed Palestinians ahead of the coming peace talks as reported by RT.

Israel’s PM is persuading his cabinet to “take a painful decision” to authorize the liberation of 104 Palestinian prisoners, some jailed for over 20 years, in order to promote peace talks with the Palestine Authority after five years of stalemate.

In addition, the Israeli government is creating legislation allowing any peace deal negotiated between Israel and the Palestinians to first be voted on by the Israeli people themselves before becoming official law.

“The Israeli cabinet has backed a bill that requires any peace deal with the Palestinians to be put to a referendum.

Any agreement which may be reached in negotiations will be put to a referendum,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office as quoted by AFP. “It is important that on such historic decisions every citizen should vote directly on an issue deciding the country’s future.”

The government regards approval of the new bill dubbed ‘Basic Law: Referendum’ as “urgent and important,” and it will be asking the parliament to speed up putting it into law, a cabinet briefing paper also said. – RT

Just days ago Israeli’s International Relations Minister Yuval Steinitz told the The BritishTelegraph newspaper,

(JP) – That Israel was willing to compromise in order to reach an agreement.

“We are prepared to make considerable concessions and it’s not going to be easy,” Steinitz said, The Telegraph newspaper reported on Thursday.

“We are ready for a two states for two people solution,” he said.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Steinitz stated: “Both sides will have to make very significant concessions and very difficult concessions. We will probably have to make very serious territorial concessions.”

“And the Palestinians will have to make also both territorial concessions – because there will be settlement blocks – but more important still they will have to recognize the very existence of the Jewish people and the Jewish state,” the international relations minister added. – JP: Steinitz: Israel willing to make ‘serious territorial concessions’ for peace.

Peace talks of such a large scale almost seem out of place considering the recent developments concerning Israel. Just days ago the European Union essentially re-drew the borders of Israel back to their 1949 lines with respect to trade. In addition, Benjamin Netanyahu also gave two weeks for Iran to halt their nuclear program or face attack. As God’s Word documents, “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:3

We will be keeping an eye on these developments.

  1. It makes a happy headline for anyone stupid enough to believe it, but Israel isn’t going to give up so much as one inch of land, and they have no desire for any peaceful relations with the Palestinians.

They’ll make peace with the Palestinians as soon as they’re all dead.

  2. Israel is starting to feel pressure from the boycotts and the EU.
But this is just another stall for time …………..
“We must define our position and lay down basic principles for a settlement. Our demands should be moderate and balanced, and appear to be reasonable. But in fact they must involve such conditions as to ensure that the enemy rejects them. Then we should manoeuvre and allow him to define his own position, and reject a settlement on the basis of a compromise solution. We should then publish his demands as embodying unreasonable extremism.” – General Yehoshafat Harkabi, Ma’ariv, 2 November 1973.

“The state of Israel must invent dangers, and to do this it must adopt the methods of provocation and revenge…. And above all, let us hope for a new war with the Arab countries so that we may finally get rid of our troubles and acquire our space.” — From the diary of Moshe Sharett, Israeli’s first Foreign Minister from 1948-1956, and Prime Minister from 1954-1956.

“We came here to a country that was populated by Arabs and we are building here a Hebrew, a Jewish state; instead of the Arab villages, Jewish villages were established. You even do not know the names of those villages, and I do not blame you because these villages no longer exist. There is not a single Jewish settlement that was not established in the place of a former Arab Village.” – Moshe Dyan, March 19, 1969, speech at the Technion in Haifa, quoted in Ha’aretz, April 4, 1969.

“Among ourselves, it must be clear that there is no place in the country for both peoples together. With the Arabs we shall not achieve our aim of being an independent people in this country. The only solution is Eretz-Israel, at least the west part of Eretz-Israel, without Arabs . . . And there is no other way but to transfer the Arabs from here to the neighbouring countries. Transfer all of them, not one village or tribe should remain . . .” –Joseph Weitz, entry in his diary for 1940 (quoted in his article: ‘A solution to the Refugee Problem: An Israeli State with a small Arab Minority’, published in Davar, 29 September, 1967.

“The state…. must see the sword as the main if not the only, instrument with which to keep its morale high and to retain its moral tension. Toward this end it may no it MUST invent dangers, and to do this it must adopt the method of provocation and revenge…. And above all, let us hope for a new war with the Arab countries so that we may finally get rid of our troubles and acquire our space.” Diary of Moshe Sharett, Israeli’s first Foreign Minister from 1948-1956, and Prime Minister from 1954-1956.

  3. Wow, just the threat of withholding some of those monthly welfare payments to the world’s biiggest bunch of moochers, Israel by the EU and all of a sudden, Israel wants to make nice.

Don’t believe a word of it and what kind of deal is it when the thieve agrees to give back a small part of what he’s stolen so he can still live in luxury on the rest of what he stole?

    1. It’s not satire… like the others posted: at best it’s stalling; at worst it’s another lie. I’ll believe it when I see it happen. By the fact that Israel is only dealing with minor issues of an International boycott instead of deserved sanctions, tells me that Israel’s peaceful giving of land to Palestinians is total BS. Israel would be on its knees with sanctions because they are not self-sustaining, and produce nothing but wars. You can presume that any land given will be uninhabitable (e.g. with poisoned soil and no potable water).

  4. We’re talking about the biggest liars on the face of the Earth. They were lying as soon as they learned to talk. You can’t believe a single word that comes out of their lying mouths.

    Hmmm……….let’s see:

    Truth?

    Or LIE?

    I’ll go with door # 2.

  5. Shenannigans…that’s what I’m calling this one! But I can see the Christian Zionists frothing at the mouth when Hal Lindsey reports this on his TV show….
