Missouri Bill Mandates Parents Report Gun Ownership to School Their Child Attends

A pre-filed bill in the Missouri Senate would require parents of a public school student to report to the school if they own a gun.

Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal filed SB 549, which reads:

This act requires a parent or guardian to notify a school district, or the governing body of a private or charter school, that he or she owns a weapon within 30 days of enrolling the child in school or becoming the owner of a weapon. The written notification only needs to include the names of the parent and any child attending the school and the fact that the parent owns a weapon.

The good news is, if you have several children attending the same school, you only have to notify the school once.  So there’s that.

This isn’t the first time Sen. Chappell-Nadal showed complete disregard for the privacy of Missourians.  The bill is exactly like SB 124 from the 2013 General Assembly.

It went no where.

  1. Nope, not going to do it, and no one else should either..we need to start practicing civil disobedience , and unite..if no one does it , than they can suck on it.

no where does it say I have to do this, and even if it did, I wouldn’t

another good reason to home school, maybe when they don’t have any students to teach and they don’t have a job than maybe they would GET IT!

    1. Hey Bart
How in the world can IGNORING UNCONSTITUTIONAL policies be considered”civil disobedience” how’s about instead of cowering we charge these commies with sedition, holler the words loud and clear in all public media and other forms of communication. Its way past time to quit playing nice and whispering,we all must stand up to be counted.

  2. Don’t tell ’em shite…this is just another way of our enemy hunting down our weapons before launching an attack.

The real crime would be to report (register) the gun. It’s simply none of the school’s business, and they have no right to demand that information.

If they were worried about kids bringing guns to school they could simply install metal detectors at the doors, but that’s obviously not what they’re after here.

    1. Bah! The bastards will eventually be installing metal detectors anyways. They gotta compete with the airport and transportation security.

Pretty soon, they’ll make us all install metal detectors in apartment complexes so that no one can rent an apartment unless they go through a metal detector. Wouldn’t surprise me. Imagine that future. Dumb sheeple would put up with it like everything else, too.

I just can’t believe this shit anymore. The people are truly in La La Land. Everyone’s afraid to get their hands dirty as if their life or job actually means anything in their matrix world. Imbeciles.

  3. “The good news is, if you have several children attending the same school, you only have to notify the school once. So there’s that.”

    Umm…how is that good news?

Also, to all the school administrators that try to enforce it, may you all hang by your necks for sedition and high treason.

Finally, what business is it of the schools whether you have a gun or not? Do they want to know what kind of car we have too? Or how about what are daddy and mommy’s hobbies or what they do on the weekends? I mean really. NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS!! And I don’t care if you’ve read about all of the ridiculous and FAKE school shootings that have been going on. IT’S NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS!!! So go take a shit for yourself!
