Vertical farming with Tower Gardens is on the ‘rise’ and rightfully so. You can grow a variety of plants without ANY soil and 90% LESS water. It also requires 10x less space so you can do a lot more in a smaller area. That means easily growing fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables, and flowers both indoors and out. And because everything is grown and picked fresh, the flavor is unbelievable!

  1. I can’t warm up to this. I like dirt and bugs and weeds and sky and sunlight and rain, and I like getting tired from keeping up with dirt and bugs and weeds and the weather. I like nature, AS IT IS. And there’s also the esthetic quality; it’s just not beautiful to see those white poles in an all white room. Cold. And the pump. What happens if the electricity goes out? I can’t warm up to this.

    1. The canadians are into this tech huge. It’s got its problems though, if you remember, a huge chain refused a batch of tomatoes i tried to deliver that were grown this way, they said quality wasnt there.

Windset farms, out of Cali. The batch was repackaged and put on the shelves. Could have been a couple reasons I was told, might not have been a quality issue. Alot of games going on in this business. When I looked close at them, some looked a little yellow, like not red enough.

Cucumbers were fine apparently. Tomatoes had problems.

      1. Yes, I remember, Mark. The whole thing feels so intrinsically wrong. Man, my dad’s tomatoes… each watered by hand, so much love and attention. And the storing of the pitchfork that upturned the soil and showed the worms. That was as important as the plants. Good tools bless the garden. Hey, let us know if you come across any methods that honor the old ways.

      2. ive grown things indoors , and same things outdoors

        there is no comparison

mother nature kicks our ass everytime

theres only so much fake sun light and fake rain and fake supplements can do, and yes you will notice the difference

    2. Same with me galen, it is just way too sterile. I see this as another push to get people into those ‘sustainable smart cities.’ I love dirt and CO2 !!!

      1. Thanks, Mary. At first glance of this my western mind went, “Wow, labor-intensive.” And there wasn’t much given about the method. Then a second short vid followed that gave more details and showed an attempt to lesson the burden. Glad we humans are so adaptable and intelligent. Here’s the link:
