The NGA, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, is a top-secret intelligence agency operating under the department of defense. There are only two federal agencies of its kind in the world, with the Western Headquarters located in the St. Louis area.
The Agency analyze still and video images to discern actionable intelligence for commanders and troops on the ground.
Recently the agency decided to update the western headquarter to a state-of-the-art facility and considered moving out of St. Louis. However, after much consideration the NGA agreed to stay, relocating from the city’s south side to north St. Louis.
This move will have an enormous impact on the city. Not only will 3,100 jobs stay in the area, but the 1.7 billion project will bring development to a historically African-American community that has not experienced development in decades.
“…relocating from the city’s south side to north St. Louis.”
But will the agency analyze still and video images to discern actionable intelligence for employees on the ground.
