Clovis, New Mexico police officer Brent Aguilar will not faces charges despite breaking a man’s cheekbone while executing a violent and controversial takedown for “concealing one’s ID” and allegedly “resisting arrest.”
The victim, Jorge Corona, 26, was a passenger in a traffic stop. He drew the cop’s ire after asking why the driver was pulled over, he then refused to produce ID after the cop turned his attention on him.
Video of the incident which occurred earlier this August shows Corona, who was in handcuffs, did not appear to show any resistance prior to the officer’s violent takedown.
The DA’s office refused to give an explanation for their exoneration, saying the DOJ is also investigating the incident and they wish to “protect the integrity of their investigation.”
Watch the full video below for yourself.
Do you think Corona showed any resistance? The officer claims he feared for his safety because Corona “thrust his shoulder forward, making the officer believe he was about to turn around and put the officer in danger.”
Corona’s lawyer, Dan Lindsey, says he was under no obligation to ID, as it was the driver, not the passenger who was suspected of a crime.
Cops like this cause things like Ferguson.
Oh no! Another cop that “feared for his safety”. 🙄
Unfrigginbelievable….. Then WHY ARE YOU A COP, YOU COWARD!!!! 😡
Go hide under a rock, you pig! I’ll be sure to pull the lever and have it drop on your head.
