Mike Judge’s film Idiocracy was a satire about America 500 years in the future having turned into a nation of morons. Idiots had lots of children and intelligent people stopped reproducing. Obamacare’s deductibles could turn us into a nation of welfare recipients in just one generation.
Obamacre is forcing tens of millions of Americans who do not currently have state assisted Medicaid to calculate their budgets. Of obvious concern to families is their higher insurance premiums and healthcare deductibles. A major concern for us a society that wants to survive should be what will Obamacare’s higher premiums and deductibles do to those couples planning to have children.
Premiums are doubling for many. For some their monthly payment is going a lot higher than that. Some have seen bills go up 1,000%. Others have seen their bills triple. The Obamacare website does quote an average increase of 90 to 100% but those are low ball numbers designed to draw in the suckers. Final prices are even higher. One woman’s plan only went up $80 a month but her deductible went from $1,500 to $6,500. A single father’s plan doubled his premium and raised his deductible from $3,500 to $12,700 . There does seem to be a huge difference between union plans and insurance available for individuals. But everyone not on Medicaid is being hit with higher deductibles and premiums.
Most families are already struggling. Younger families could be saddled with student loan debt. The average college graduate has $25,000 in student loans and owes $3,400 in credit card debt.
If you hit that struggling family with an additional bill of just $150 to $250 a month, people in what was the middle class will have to make adjustments and cut back. That will negatively impact the economy. But those who had been barely making it will have to go running to the nearest state Medicaid office to sign up.
But suppose your deductible is only $3,500 and you want to have a child. You will have to pick up the added co-pays out of pocket. If your credit card interest rate is 29.95% and you want to pay it off in 36 months, your monthly payment will be $149. Your interest payments will be $1,846. You could take longer than 36 months but what do you do if you have an accident or a child has appendicitis? You will need to pay it off ASAP. You could pay it off in 12 months at $342 a month. But most young couples will not be able to afford that after their premium was doubled. Many families will be hit with even higher deductibles ranging from $5,000 to $12,000. And that would make having a child unaffordable.
I would suggest a tax credit to cover the cost of the out of pocket expenses involved in a birth whether the child was stillborn or survived as being imperative for the health of our future generations. But I would prefer that Obamacare was scrapped and we start all over with a new bill.
Of course illegal aliens who get Amnesty will be offered subsidized health insurance for the first few years. Once employers figure that out they just might fire a few million citizens to hire the formerly illegal. Getting fired would qualify you for Medicaid. Of course that will bankrupt the state you live in. Obamacare was never intended to do anything but destroy America.
The only people who will be able to afford to have children will be the wealthy, the illegal aliens and the poor on Medicaid. This means that the middle class will disappear in just one generation. Democracy will no longer be viable and will have to disappear.
Of course the poor and what used to be the middle class will only be able to afford to eat Genetically Modified food. GMO diets have turned lab animals into sterile and sickly runts in 3 generations. Monsanto employees will not eat GMO food in their company cafeterias.
One in ten American children will by their 19th birthday have a liver disease not previously seen outside the elderly because of the harmful additives in the American diet. And the Epicyte gene which has been spliced into corn will make them sterile so Obama donors do not have to wait for the third generation for the bloodline of the Obama voters to die out.
GMO food, Aspartame, MSG, Bisphenol, fluoride and bromine all make us sick. If they banned those additives, we would be healthier and healthcare costs would be reduced. Since they are not banned, I can only conclude that the Obama donors do not like the poor on any day of the year except election day.
I would like to suggest a few additional reforms.
We could force doctors, hospitals, labs and pharmacies to publish a list of prices. This would cut the cost of healthcare. Under both the present system and under Obamacare, a doctor could buy chemo drugs for $2,000 and sell it to you for $8,000. Published price lists would make that impossible. One doctor investigated drug costs and discovered it would be cheaper to buy most drugs out of pocket from the cheapest provider than to use insurance and just make the co-pay.
I would hope you were already aware that chemo and radiation is worse than doing nothing for a cancer patient. Suppose we tested all drugs against home remedies. If the drug for diabetes did no better than giving a patient Vitamin D3 and cinnamon, then that diabetes drug would no longer be covered by insurance. How about testing chemo against baking soda? A doctor in Italy routinely cures cancers and fungus in ten days or less using $2.00 worth of baking soda. Curing cancer, diabetes and many circulatory problems on the cheap would reduce healthcare costs and insurance premiums.
It would also make us healthier. But that is something Obama donors want to avoid.
Finally, I once worked with a healthcare prevention group that included a midwife. Midwives can reduce the cost of childbirth and eliminate the majority of caesarian sections. This assumes that hospitals are available in case of emergencies.
Idiocracy? Maybe, but “Brazil” is more like it (both those films are my favorite dystopian movies, with “Metropolis” and “Clockwork Orange” close seconds…)
I wonder how long it’ll take for folks to NOT be able to answer the math security question on this website without a calculator? I’d say at least one more generation…
