I’m not an enthusiast when it comes to getting balls in holes, golf, basketball, etc.,but I will say this was impressive.
I had a friend in 8th grade who did exactly this… They were down by 1 point, he got the rebound with 2 seconds on the clock and one-handed the ball in for the win – the buzzer sounded as the ball started it’s downward arc, and he was the hero of the game. That was 35+ years ago, and I remember it like it was yesterday. Bet this kid will remember this to his dying day – even though it’s just a stupid game.
meh… it’s just basketball. There are more pressing issues to be had.
True, sports is mainly a distraction. Nevertheless, when seemingly impossible sports events happen…from Secretariat winning the Belmont by 31 lengths running a mile-and-a-half in 2 minutes 4 seconds (that’s over 30 miles per hour!), to the US Olympic Hockey team beating mighty Russia, to the NY Giants miracle throw-and-catch to beat the unbeaten (cheaters) NE Patriots in Supe 42, to this–these folks are wonders of God.
Note: my old HS football team in 1974 went unbeaten and unscored on until the playoffs….
