Statista’s latest chart featured in The Independent took a glance at the history of the British empire.
According to the book “All the Countries We’ve Ever Invaded: And the Few We Never Got Round To”, there are only 22 countries Britain never invaded throughout the course of history.
This chart shows all the countries invaded by Britain throughout history.
Most of them were invaded by others like France, Portugal, Russia, and of course the good ‘ol US of A, and most of the rest are principalities more than countries….since when is Vatican City a country?
Only surprise here is Sweden, which at one time and for several hundred years controlled Norway (which was also controlled by Denmark). Guess it pays to have Viking ancestry.
Mongolia is understandable, but all the rest must have had SOME resources worth stealing.
