Bearing Arms – by Bob OwensTwo armed robbers in attempted to hold up the wrong Gamestop video game store in Harris County, Texas:
It all happened shortly after noon on Wallisville Road near Beltway 8. According to investigators, the two men attempted to rob a Game Stop store when they were stopped by the 28-year-old U.S. Marine.
The Marine was eating at a restaurant next door when he saw two men pull up to the Game Stop wearing hoodies and bandanas. He yelled for someone to dial 911, and then he grabbed his concealed weapon out of his truck.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, that’s when one of the suspects pointed a gun at him.
One of the suspects was fatally shot. The second suspect got away but was found later and taken into custody.
No charges will be filed against the Marine, who had served two tours overseas. Note that the Marine had his carry permit, but had to retrieve his sidearm from his vehicle. It isn’t known (by us, at least) if this Quiznos is posted against concealed carry, or if the veteran simply preferred to keep his sidearm in the truck.
An interesting side-note to the main story is a claim made in the comments of the story. If this young woman’s story is true, then the Marine served up cosmic justice for a previous murder.

It would not be surprising if this claim turns out to be entirely true. Violent felons tend to continue to be violent felons.

In any case, glad to know the Marine is safe and that they caught the guy and that they didn’t charge the Marine for gee…I don’t know…DOING THE RIGHT THING?
So this happened at a Gamestop and a Quiznos was right next to it. Typical corporate style plaza in Texas. I bet a Lowes, Walmart, Petsmart, and a Ross store were right across the street from it. That’s usually how it goes in Texas. The same 10 damn stores at every mile. I’m sick of it. It’s always the same corporation, no self-employed businesses and no originality. For example, their building another Walgreens down the street from me. Exactly one mile away from it is another Walgreens. And of course, right across from Walgreens is ALWAYS their sister company CVS. Talk about living in a Fascist/Communist world. I’m nauseous just talking about it.
