The political Left has so permeated American institutions withpoisonous ideology and political correctness that we really have gone off the proverbial deep end, especially on our campuses of (alleged) higher learning.
As noted by The College Fix, so-called “human rights” now extend into the realm of providing feminine hygiene products for men in college bathrooms. And what’s worse, there are a number of people who don’t think there is a darned thing wrong with this demand.
No, we’re not making this up.
The Cornell Daily Sun reported recently that “thousands” of students at the Ivy League university have come out in support of a “referendum” for free feminine pads and tampons to be placed in all bathrooms, including men’s bathrooms.
More than 2,000 verified undergrads signed a petition calling for the referendum in less than eight hours.
“We are currently in an open comment period,” said Student Assembly president Jordan Berger, Class of ’17. “Every member of the Cornell community is permitted to submit statements,” she continued, adding that the council had already received more than 570.
Government P.C. solutions mean decisions are based on ideology not practicality – or even on choice
Like Brown, another Ivy League school, Cornell’s student assembly said that it wants to offer these products in all bathrooms – women’s, men’s and gender-neutral “inclusive” bathrooms – because, as Miranda Kasher, Class of ’17, the SA women’s representative, says, “The ultimate goal is to provide free feminine hygiene products to Cornell students and to be as inclusive as possible in doing so.”
Even if that means providing feminine products to men.
This craziness has its roots in the P.C. movement, for sure, but also in – of all places – the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare. If you recall, the “basic coverage” health insurance plan all Americans must purchase includes maternity care, even for men– and also for women past childbearing age. Supporters of this craziness claim such lunacy is necessary so that all plans are created equal and don’t discriminate. But requiring people to buy coverage they don’t want and don’t need is actually discriminatory, in that it favors big government over an individual’s right to choose what is best for them.
As for tampons and feminine pads in men’s rooms, such activism comes with a price, literally, as Columbia University has discovered.
In a separate report, The College Fix noted that the school’s health center canceled a free tampon/feminine pad initiative there after administrators discovered that no one was participating.
It’s obvious: Next-gen political leaders don’t think you’re smart enough to make these decisions on your own
The Columbia Daily Spectator further reported that the school ended the pilot program after discovering that only 137 students picked up 200 pads and 635 tampons. But the school has more than 4,500 students, 51 percent of whom are male and 49 percent female. Judging by those figures, this means that only about 6 percent of female students were picking up free menstrual products, and that assumes that all of them were female and that each was an individual student.
At the same time, Columbia’s vice president for policy, Abby Porter, declared that three-ply toilet paper was “a luxury” and therefore would be discontinued – though she did consider the menstrual products a “necessity.”
Obviously there is a huge disconnect between the ultra-Leftist P.C. student “government” and the student bodies themselves.
But here’s another thought: Many students involved in student government, especially at Ivy League schools, are interested in governing as a career, and eventually they run for office or receive appointments to government agencies. Here we have students in several top schools actually advocating government intervention in a woman’s menstrual cycle and other bathroom functions. Their mindset is obvious: Government must make even the most basic decisions about bodily functions because mere mortals are incapable of doing so.
Now you know why America has been transformed into a whiny, needy, big government nanny state: The people who become our leaders have been trained in micromanagement and authoritarianism from the outset.

Well, seeing as how most millennial generation men are a bunch of cry baby pussies and act like their vagina hurts all the time, they probably do need tampons.
I keep a few tampons on hand. Excellent for pluggin’ bullet holes and nasty gashes.
HEYCORNELLIUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!
PUT EM INYER POCKETS TO PLUG BULLET WOUNDS!!!!
schmuckdaddy liebowitz?
YESSSSSSS????????????????????
IM SORRY…..THAT SHOULD HAVE READ, “CORNHOLIANS”
Now …. I’m a little disgruntled about this.
So I’m proposing that men have their own tampons.
I’ll call them “ManPons”.
The outer plastic sheathing will have a camouflage pattern on it.
I see some marketing value here.
Plus dikes would probably feel more comfortable using them.
Well…that’s if they haven’t had a penis attached yet from some ball less man that didn’t need it.
