The last two years have been good ones for Lyon Distilling. At the small rum producer in St. Michaels, Maryland, a town on the Eastern Shore of Chesapeake Bay, production has jumped from 4,000 bottles a year to 40,000. Four employees have become 15.

Explosive consumer demand explains some of that growth, said Jaime Windon, the company’s chief executive and co-founder. A Saudi man attending a New Mexico university was charged Friday with illegally possessing a firearm, according to federal court documents.

On Monday, the New Jersey Assembly voted to extend driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. Given the importance of driver’s licenses for voting, this seems a dangerous step toward ushering illegal immigrants to the polls.

The legislation, A4743/S3229, would create a two-license system in the state. Israel is preparing to claim a total of $150 billion in compensation for the property of Jews who migrated from Arab countries to occupied Palestine, Israel Today has reported.

The process of estimating the property values started in 2002, the newspaper pointed out. A police officer in Aurora, Colorado, who was found passed out drunk at the wheel of his patrol car in March was not investigated for driving under the influence, despite officers at the scene smelling alcohol and describing possible intoxication.

Newly released bodycam footage shows officers responding to Officer Nathan Meier’s patrol car. One officer can be heard commenting on Meier’s apparent intoxication during the video. Others comment on the smell of alcohol at the scene. Meier is still employed as an Aurora police officer. US Naval Aviators across the nation have penned an open letter to Capitol Hill and the Pentagon, urging them to consider allowing servicemembers to be armed on base.

Virginia – Earlier in the week, we reported on how lawmakers over in Virginia were threatening to use the National Guard if members of local law enforcement refused to enforce laws passed in the state that they felt violated the second amendment.

Well, looks like Tazewell County isn’t going down without a fight. On top of calling themselves a second amendment sanctuary county, they’re also crafting a militia as well.
