A team of engineers has developed a class of tiny bio-hybrid machines that swim like sperm, the first synthetic structures that can traverse the viscous fluids of biological environments on their own. Texas home school families need to take note of this case. While the parents won, and should never have had their children taken, it is still an lesson in how the attitudes and beliefs of social workers can override the law. It seems to me that these judges and case workers need some kind of in-service training on home school laws.

Mr. and Mrs. Tutt are a Christian family who has their own children and foster children. They home school.  Unlike most couples, they are equipped to handle special needs children who are particularly difficult to place. HARDEVILLE, S.C. – Col. Thomas J. Tickner, commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District, receives a tour of the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge Aug. 19. Established in 1927 and operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the refuge provides more than 29,000 acres of freshwater marshes, tidal rivers and bottomland hardwood habitat. The Corps has performed several projects for the refuge, including a series of freshwater control structures completed in 2010. As a federal partner, the Corps often consults with the FWS when making water management decisions affecting the Savannah River Basin. SOUTH CAROLINA (INTELLIHUB) — The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) recently confirmed that a plume of radioactive Tritium is moving off the Barnwell Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility, in Barnwell, South Carolina.

This is the first public announcement on this topic, but many environmentalists claim that this has been going on for years.

“The plume started moving off the Barnwell site years ago. In fact, they dug up the adjacent church because there was contamination of soil and groundwater and that was ten years ago. Japanese media is reporting yet another mysterious and previously undetected leak inside one of the crippled nuclear Fukushima reactors this weekend.

According to Asahi Shimbum, citing an announcement from the Tokyo Electric Power Company, a “new water leak, possibly from the effort to cool a crippled reactor, has been detected on the first floor of a reactor building at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant.”

In keeping with the ever increasing trend of military and law enforcement cooperation and the growing prevalence of civilian police forces conducting drills with military forces, South Carolina’s Richland County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it will be engaging in joint training exercises on Monday and Tuesday with unidentified units from Ft. Bragg.

The air-mass is starting to become much colder again as a deep trough carves into the region starting the end of the weekend, maximizing Monday and Tuesday … and lasting for a couple days thereafter, before lifting near the weekend.

With their teenage son in a coma, a California family was willing to try anything to bring him back.

And with a new type of treatment, their son has made a miraculous recovery — thanks to fish oil.

Fox 6 Now

CALEDONIA (WITI) — A Union Pacific train derailed in Caledonia just east of the intersection of 5 Mile Rd. and Nicholson Rd. on Sunday morning, January 19th.

19 cars went off the rails as a result of the incident. A fire shut down Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant on Sat. Jan. 18, 2014WRAL News

NEW HILL, N.C. — Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant was put on alert Saturday morning after a fire in plant electrical equipment, officials said.

Smoke was detected at about 10:15 a.m., and operators safely shut down the plant before on-site fire crews responded. No flames were detected.

KIEV, Ukraine (AP) — Thousands of anti-government demonstrators clashed for hours with riot police in Ukraine’s capital Sunday, attacking officers with sticks, stones and flares after new laws were passed to stifle protests. Dozens of people, including more than 20 police, were injured.

Retail giant Amazon is revolutionizing the way online purchases are made, with a new patent scheme that would see items shipped out, before the customer buys them.

On Christmas eve, Amazon patented the “anticipatory package shipping” process which is expected to expedite shipments through sending specific items to distribution centers near those customers who the company expects to buy them in the near future.
