J.C. Penney Co. said on Wednesday it would close 33 stores and cut 2,000 jobs as part of its efforts to return to profitability.

Chief Executive Myron Ullman said in a statement the action “addresses a strategic priority to improve the profitability of our stores.”

Penney is the second major U.S. retailer in as many weeks to announce layoffs. Last week, Macy’s Inc. said it was eliminating 2,500 jobs. Those cuts will be offset over time as the retailer plans to add positions to its online business, leaving overall staffing levels unchanged at around 175,000.   Continue reading “Tough Times Are Just Around The Corner? Republican lawmakers in a series of states are taking a new approach to thwarting federal gun laws which they feel infringe upon the Second Amendment – sticking together.

Missouri lawmakers are pondering a piece of legislation which would attempt to nullify specific federal gun control regulations from being enforced in the state. WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A judge on Wednesday upheld subsidies at the heart of President Barack Obama’s healthcare overhaul, rejecting one of the main legal challenges to the policy by conservatives opposed to an expansion of the federal government.

We were supposed to go in from Turkey, but Rivera screwed that one up. We ended up in Kuwait prepping to go in from the south.

For those of you living in the Dallas, TX area, I wanted to relay this information to you (and anyone else interested in this intel) because I have noticed an over-abundance of Police security towers, such as the one in the picture left, in parking lots in Mckinney, Fairview, Allen, Richardson and Dallas.

The police security towers started showing up after Thanksgiving last year (2013), starting with one in Mckinney at a Target shopping plaza off of the 121. China confirmed conducting a test flight of a new hypersonic missile delivery vehicle capable of delivering nuclear warheads with record breaking speeds. The move is purely scientific and not targeted at any country, said the Defense Ministry.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The family of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was captured more than four years ago in Afghanistan, says a new video of the soldier believed to have been taken in the last month has bolstered its resolve to bring him home safely to Idaho.

SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — State wildlife officials are trying to figure out why all the fish have died in a northern Nevada marina where the stocked fishery has flourished since the man-made lake was created nearly 15 years ago.

What she didn’t realize was that he was buying virtual gems — with real money — to build his dragon park as part of the game.

When she opened her credit card statement, she saw a slew of charges from Apple, totaling $600 in one day. “I thought it was a mistake, that someone had stolen my credit card,” said Nussbaum, a mother of two children in Westerville, Ohio.
