New York Times -Updates on Syria – by Jonathan Weisman
Senator Rand Paul, a Kentucky Republican and a fierce opponent of military action in Syria, will filibuster any effort to bring an authorization of military force to a quick vote in the Senate, a Paul aide confirmed Wednesday.
The decision likely will scramble the Senate schedule and could delay any vote of the Senate for days. House leaders want the Senate to move first to build momentum. But for the Senate to move quickly, the majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, would need unanimous consent at least to bring the authorization of force to the Senate floor.
That is not likely to happen. Moira Bagley, a spokeswoman for Mr. Paul, said he would demand a 60-vote threshold to move forward.
A senior Senate leadership aide said Mr. Reid would like to get consent among all the senators to quickly move a resolution, but will not try to protect it from ordinary Senate rules. “This resolution will be treated like any other joint resolution, meaning it is subject to filibuster.”

I hope he keeps cameras around him at all times. I wouldn’t put it past them at this point to do a disappearing act with him!
YAHOO! Rand Paul, conveniently showing up to save the day, YET AGAIN! (Sarcasm)
Oh, God help us all!
It seems to go something like this: When something bad like this happens, we bring out Boehner to calm the Republicans and then we bring out Rand Paul to calm the Tea Party and Independents who still think he means anything. They are nothing but elitist henchmen or doctor-like politicians used to cool down the boiling water that was turned up a little to much in cooking that frog.
“Everyone feel better now? OK, so now we are going to do it anyways. Shh! Shh…relax. It’ll be OK. Good. Good peasants. I’m going to just go back to my office now. You take care of yourself, get some sleep and call me when you wake up again.”
Unbelievable!
Yes NC, Rand Paul is our “Knight in Shining Armor” come to save us all from the evildoers. “Here I come to save the day!” I’m just trying to imagine how many hours he will blow smoke out of his arse before he folds for some flimsy, ridiculous excuse.
MIGHTY MOUTH (with his filibuster) will save the day! Wailing wall Paul is just doing what Bibi told him to-he can expect another vacation in Israhell for his efforts, I bet.
Nobody is falling for this dope anymore. Birds out of the cage next please!
