Police chief vows revenge after officer gunned down for no obvious reason

CNN – by Rick Martin and Holly Yan

Grief over a Kentucky officer’s death is giving way to rage and anxiety as police believe someone set up a trap just to kill their colleague or another driver.

Bardstown Police Officer Jason Ellis was driving home from work around 2 a.m. Saturday when he noticed some debris on the road, Kentucky State Police Trooper Norman Chaffins told CNN.

When Ellis got out of his car to remove the debris, he was shot multiple times.

“It was an obvious ambush,” Chaffins said. “He never used his service weapon. It was holstered.”

Other drivers pulled over and used Ellis’ police radio to call for help. But the officer didn’t survive.

Bardstown Police Chief Rick McCubbin promised to avenge his officer’s death.

“It’s an eye for an eye. You kill one of my guys, I’m not going to rest until I have you in cuffs or on the front side of a weapon. And I mean that,” he said.

Chaffins said it’s unclear whether Ellis was the intended target or if the shooter planned to kill a different officer or even a random citizen.

But he believes the killing was premeditated.

“Someone planned this, and someone planned to shoot somebody at that spot, at that location, at that time,” Chaffins said.

The brazen and mysterious circumstances surrounding Ellis’ death has sent a ripple of fear across Nelson County.

“It scares everybody in the community. It could happen to anyone,” resident Martin Rogers told CNN affiliate WHAS. “If he wasn’t the intended victim, that means anyone could have been the victim.”

    1. …anyone who has read my offerings here…or my book…those folks know I have no empathy, sympathy or support for corrupt law enforcement…and it is unfortunate that the relationship between citizens and political leadership (inlcuding police)…has soured so badly…but gunning down a random cop or person…for no rightous motivation…that is the wrong thing to do..and I don’t think most folks would support that…even here..

      1. Hey RJ. screw them cops, they know that it is a part of the job that they signed on the bottom line , so therefore they deserve everything they got coming to them. shoot a f`n cop on site as their job is to lock you up in jail so fu*k them cop mother f`ers. They are a bunch of dead dog meat in my book. Dirty bastard cop F`ers. Yea F them cops!!!

      2. Sorry RJ, no sympathy here. Those bast@rds murder innocent people on an almost daily basis, and most times we never even hear about it. If he was WAS one of the ‘good’ cops’ then the likelihood that he was killed by his own is very high, imo. No one can be a cop these days and NOT know what’s going on, so if nothing else, he’s guilty by association, and/or collusion for either covering up their crimes, or by simply turning a blind eye to them. We are in an undeclared (by them) war here, there is no grey area, it’s us or them.

Once the SHTF, they’d better not be in uniform, or they will be treated as enemy combatants.

        Period.

      3. You are right #1. When the SHTF they better look out. And if they talk and act like one of those f`ers they better look out. Period!!! RJ , you better figure it out. Those cops know their time is coming soon and we will not comprimize with them cop pigs. IMOO. They Better Look Out!! I don`t care about good cop bad cop because the time has come where there is no such thing as good bad cop, if you get what I`m sayin` cause there has been a lot of innocent people convicted by god/bad pig that was just doing the pigs job so F them cops DAMN IT.

        1. ..I know…I know…I grew up among corrupt cops…so I know…I’m just saying…without moral justification….it still is not the right thing to do…I get the anger..and I understand the guilt-by-association-cover-up-thing…but if we are going to have a moral justification for fighting agianst them…we cannot become them…

          1. PAY BACK IS A MOTHER F`ER. Get it RJ. you are either for or against. A cop is a cop is a F`n cop them dirty bastard decrepit SOB`s. IMOFO!

          2. I want to agree with RJ, but it is so difficult to do these days (especially since I have been victim of police brutality TWICE) and I know that RJ is thinking the same way. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

If the cop did something to a person by beating him or tasing him, and the victim’s friends came out and shot the cop out of self-defense and no other option, then fine. But this…this is murder.

Of course, because it is a cop who got murdered, the other cops actually take it personal and decide to DO their job for once.

If this was about someone killing an non-officer, it would just get put in a file by a donut-eating desk officer and never to be investigated or looked at again.

It’s funny how the shoe is on the other foot.

          3. Moral justification, OK, we’ll just use the same mentality they use, shoot first, ask questions later. Millard, author of this comment.

      4. hahaha what are you smokeing we do not have policy enforcers here they all all all all all are traitors left us the american ppl and swore an oathe became employees of a foriegn private for profit corporation they are the enemy pll are figureing this out
they the lowest iq of us are being hired adn told its the other way around the stop traverlers every second of the day steal from them taze them beat them MURDER THEM break into trespass in our homes and steal murder us because some queer crossdresser in a black dress and wig told them they were special they have a costume and i am being polite its morons like you who accept this simpeton mind trick and beleive this bs they work to keep us safe is why we have this problem now if you want to live in a policy enforced sate leave our land go where the fools have allowed it to be we are done wiht this bs at no time ever have the ppl of this land allowed this give anyone any authority to do any of this and if defending yourself is ambushing being a terrorist then so be it all you self proclaimed elite lovers of apron lifters be gone
and as far as those who appease and say oh there are good cops there is no such thing all are traitors for takeing the job and working for a foriegn agency which all the alphabet soup gangs are foriegn they do not belong on this land ever for no reason some queers in in the district kontracting with them is not an open invitation to be on this land PERIOD

        1. …with all due respect to everyne who writes on this site, shares an opinion and supports the Constituion…I don’t need pecker-head-shills on any site trying to goad me into making idiotic statements about killing authorities or police. When any of you can honestly claim to have spent 25 years as a Federally Protected Whistle-Blower…and to have battled corruption at The Pentagon level, then maybe I’ll listen to reasonable views on how to combat the corruption. I know how deep the corruption is, how systemic the corruption is…and how close this country is to anarchy…and when the time comes for action….I intend to be very 4th generation …. until that time…we don’t need stupid provocations that empower their police state any more than it already is…passive resistance and active civil action is the manner to proceed for the moment…let the country degrade to the point..where the loyalty of most Americans is on our side…including the relatively honest LEO’s that may exist… it is childish to paint all LEO’s with the same corrupt brush…not that the system is not corrupt…but often the folks we need to make change…are the ones we need to step foward and empower them against the corrupt system… claiming to be willing to kill someone you don’t know…or threatening to kill people…without due process…people who have been shown to have done nothing personally against your person (or others) is just emtpy rhetoric…and that is not what we need…

…you people who make the battle we are in…you make it sound like some reality show on CBS….as though you are going to crush the most powerful poltical machine in history… by threatening to kill random cops on the roadside… silly boys…that is not going to help… however…intelligent, well thought out actions that the majority of our country believe in and accept…that is the best course to start out on…being ready to shift tactics at a moment’s notice..then maybe I’ll “get it” ….:)

          1. Come on RJ, you’ve posting here quite a bit longer than many, and we’ve always had the greatest respect for your opinions and comments. I always read your comments, and you are obviously well-informed and very articulate.
Only one poster here really got out line, lost whatever, so don’t think that is the majority consensus. You’ve been seeing digger’s comments long enough to know how volatile he can be on the subject of cops. Truth is, most of us here hate cops, and not without good reason. I myself got the worst beating of my entire life from a cop. It was so bad, I couldn’t sleep on my back for a month.

If you can name one valid reason for the Nazi stormtrooper attitude of the cops these days, I may concede your point.

            Respectfully,
            # 1 NWO Hatr

  1. So he was a canine officer. Wonder how many people he threatened with his dog, how many people he allowed his dog to attack and bite, and how many times he goosed his dog to react in order to perform illegal searches. Guess we’ll never hear that part of the story.

And if it’s the case of an eye for an eye, the chief and his department likely have a heck of a lot of bad karma coming their way.

    1. ghandi was a memeber of the b a r he was doing as ordered
to get his ppl to stand down do nothing till the british fags got all set up and took over the land they dont whoreship those who dont work for them want to see who the biggest traitors of the ppl in a land are look at the federal reserve notes see who picture is on them oooooooooooooooooooooooh thats right ghandi the atorner b a r member is on the fed res note there

      1. lwr, until you start using punctuation, most will probably just ignore your comments as rambling and word salad.

  2. I wonder if the cop had beaten the shit out of someone for no reason, sexually assaulted a young woman after pulling her over, planted drugs on an innocent person, or done another such thing, that would motivate an honest man to want to get even. If so, then this is good news.

    1. “pulling over” is an attack ppl traveling on the roads can not be pulled over routine traffic stopped that fictional bs dont exist it has been allowed to go on to long at no time ever has anyone been given the authority or right to stop another without a lawfull warrant supported by proof of harm a peice of paper signed by a judy is not a warrant it is a letter of marque a costumed tard pulling someone over is no differnt then anyone else doing it it is a criminal act assult unlawfull arrest and usually theft harm and sometime murder those are emergency lights all that is asked is you pull over to allow them to go by wehn they stop behind you they are committing several criminal acts

  3. Or, since we know that a lot of cops are part of the illicit drug trade, it could have been retaliation for a bad deal, which I think is the more likely scenario.

  4. I read this story in this mornings newspaper. It made me sad. It made me sad because I felt no remorse for this Officer, knowing what has gone on lately with law enforcement and civilians, knowing that these Masonic, badge wearing Nazi’s are killing us one by one for no reason what-so-ever.
Yea, it made me sad to know that this cop probably has a family…and that I could care less. It makes me sad to know that, deep in my heart, I hope this sort of thing continues.
What the f**k have I/we become?? I/We have become people who aren’t taking anymore B.S. from an administration/agenda gone wild. I don’t own any guns, I know that there are other ways to bring these Masonic P.O.S. down.
They kill us, and there’s no recourse. One of them gets killed, and the shtf.
I DO hope they find these people who killed this Officer….I’d like to shake their hand.

    1. “I DO hope they find these people who killed this Officer….I’d like to shake their hand.”

That’s a terrible thing to say. If “they” find them, you’d never get the chance to shake their hand.

Personally, I hope they DON’T catch them, so as to allow them to continue their fine service to the public.

      1. id help them problem is it was most likely one of there own traterous scum that did it and they will use it as an excuse for trying more gun thefts lets see like in texas claiming it was a white militia type then found out it was one of there own

    2. There is also one more probability here. That is, that this cop who was killed, he was actually getting ready to expose this Police Department as the lying, theiving, coke-snorting-ass-holes that they are.
This Police Chief has a “long record” of (is well known for) his corruption. That’s why this Chief’s words are so strong, threatening to take an eye for an eye.
I wonder how many little kids this Masonic Chief has molested??
There is more to this story, and it will be coming out very soon.
“Someone planned this” alright. But look no further than to Rick McCubbin, the Masonic Chief of Police who has the most to lose.

  5. Yeah, they would like for the public to pity them and take their side when they go gunnin’ for whoever did this. And to the innocent officers, yes there a few. Damn few. Do the right thing. Remember your oath to serve the constitution and the people of your community. When you see one of your brethren violating a citizens rights, speak up. Otherwise, your silence of the wrongs done to the people is your acceptance of those wrongs and you will not be considered ‘innocent’ when bad things happen. Innocent civilians are killed in wrong address raids, taserings gone bad, etc. Don’t see too many of the police, even the ‘good’ ones going out of their way to apologize for those. You’ll get the same response from me and mine, officer.

    1. there silence is much more than that according to there company policy the u.s. code if they do nothing to stop it they are as guilty as the one who did it not partly to blame as guilty not only does there company policy have taht it says whoever commits these acts is guilty not if found by a jury is guilty the commiting of it is all it takes dont you just want to be a u.s. citizen and fed employee and yes the all are all city fed state employees work for “the state” the state is the UNITED STATES CORPORATION washington dc

  6. The title of the article states “gunned down for no obvious reason”. Well duhhh, he was a pig. He obviously pissed off the wrong person.

  7. something wicked this way comes.all police and polititions have been covering up all the corruption for years and now satan wants to be paid for protecting their criminal behinds.this is how you put fear back into these corrupt parasite criminals as they dont know who is next, nice.

  8. With words like that, I’ll bet some random old wayfaring vagabond gets singled out, evidence planted & gets wasted while resisting. That tactic of putting crap in the middle of the road & ambushing is old timey. Someone knew this off duty LEO’s route & routine. The chief has to cover his & department’s azz with another dead body.

      1. Everything frosty here, NWO Hatr. Been on the road teaching out of county & checking up on “others”. Finally back in the woods for awhile. Thanks.

    1. thats right most likely one of there own did it they will murder someone and claim it was them then cover it all up

    2. After reading your analysis, Bent, I’m inclined to agree. Either that or they had some neighborhood people with a police scanner or walkie-talkie or cell phone monitoring where he was going until they found the perfect place to set the trap for him. This does smell more like an inside job and I’m betting the police chief definitely had some involvement in it.

  9. This act of violence shows that this is Kentucky. I’ve noticed over the years how society has changed Kentucky. Once our small towns didn’t need law enforcement. Mayberry was in full effect. Everyone owned a gun and the worse thing you heard of was Jim Bob soaking some moonshine. Times have changed. Families feel threatened in their own homes because of violence. Police Officers have to be on alert at all times. Another addition to the paranoia that is Kentucky now. Everyone is apprehensive of their neighbor. What happened to my home?

  10. with cops 99% are corrupt dirty egotistical “hero syndrome” shitbags..and only 1% are good honest folks who live by the constitution..
you have to be born a mega asshole to be a cop and after watching thousands of video’s of cops abusing and murdering innocent civilians this news dont make me shed the slightest tear..

unless he was one of the 1% who lived by the constitution and oath to protect the people,,then nobody cares about this pig..

  11. You know after watching this video and listening to the Chief, he sounds pretty calm and not as angry as one would expect when one of their own is killed.

Usually a chief would say something like, “We will not rest! We will hunt you down and bring you in dead or alive and with a drone if we have to!”

But this chief was just like, “Yea, it makes me mad, but we’ll put forth some good effort to get the people who did this. Don’t worry. Have a nice day, everyone.”

Seems strange, don’t you think? I’m sticking with BentSpear’s analysis. Inside job. Something’s definitely not right here. The trooper looks more angry than the police chief and looks like the way someone would normally get angry when one of their own dies. Not like the way the police chief is acting.

  12. Didn’t use his service weapon, pulled over because of debris in the road? That sounds like a total lie. $10 says this got his a$$ handed to him after power tripping on someone.

for teh paid troll i can fill this comment section full of stories vids of this so much so it would take weeks to read it all but your gonna tell us it one isolated incedence one mistake it wont happen again all day tomaro eh you dont get paid enough to spew the gub propoganda just leave the list of sites to comment on and blogs they have you post to save us the trouble of putting them into the ip ban list lets see thats now over 1billion ips now
geeeeeeeeeeeee i hope exposeing the truth isnt inciting trouble and defending yourself ambushing ya thats it its ambushing when you defend yourself murdering you is for your safety locking you up in there warehouses for profit is for your safety damn tired of hearing ppl being kept safe by murder

  14. I also think this guy was shot by another cop. People don’t normally go around shooting strangers. It happens but mostly it’s between people who work together or in some kind of relationship gone bad. If a woman was connected in some way we will know soon enough. They can’t keep anything to themselves if they wanted to.
