One of America’s leading scientists has dismissed as “raving nonsense” the pope’s call for action on climate change – so long as the leader of the world’s 1 billion Catholics rejects the need for population control.
In a commentary in the journal Nature Climate Change, Paul Ehrlich, a senior fellow at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment, argues that Pope Francis is simply wrong in trying to fight climate change without also addressing the additional strain on global resources from population rise. “That’s raving nonsense,” Ehrlich told the Guardian. “He is right on some things but he is just dead wrong on that.”
The critique in “Society and the Pope’s encyclical”, part of a special package from scientists on the encyclical, marked a rare note of dissent from scientists and campaigners. Many hope that the pope will drive home his call to action on poverty and the environment in his speech to Congress on Thursday.
Ehrlich, in his Nature Climate Change commentary, accuses Francis of a dangerous flaw in his indictment of consumerism and its effects on the poor and the environment. The pope had fallen for the usual clerical “obsession” with contraception and abortion – when he could have instead broken new ground on the Catholic church’s approaches to women’s reproductive rights and family planning.
The broadside exposes some of the difficulties of embracing a figure such as the pope – for those on the left as well as the right.
Conservative allies of the pope, on issues such as same-sex marriage and abortion, have balked at his denunciation of capitalism and call to action on climate change.
Those thrilled by the pope’s intervention on climate change – and Ehrlich counts himself among them – were troubled by Francis’s refusal to countenance the need to limit population, the scientist said. “It is crystal clear. No one concerned with the state of the planet and the state of the global economy can avoid dealing with population. It is the elephant in the room,” he said.
Ehrlich became a household name in the US nearly 50 years ago for warning of a global catastrophe because of population growth – a scenario he later conceded did not entirely materialise.
But while the scientist applauded the pope’s overall message on the environment, he said Francis had undermined his own cause by failing to acknowledge the need for birth control and reproductive choice.
Indeed, Francis in the encyclical explicitly rejects the idea of population growth as a strain on global resources. “Demographic growth is fully compatible with an integral and shared development,” the pope wrote. “To blame population growth instead of extreme and selective consumerism on the part of some, is one way of refusing to face the issues.”
Ehrlich said that was a mistake. The global population, now over 7 billion, is projected to reach 9.7 billion in 2050 according to the United Nations. “There is no competent scientist who would say there is not a problem with population growth. In other words, the pope is dead wrong. Here he is following an antique doctrine that it is impossible to change,” Ehrlich said. “I am sure he knows better, he is not a dope.”
Other scientists in the Nature Climate Change package also took issue with the pope’s message – such as his call for leaders to undergo a “moral conversion” when it came to the environment. That overlooked the powerful forces behind the global economic order, and fell far short of a credible strategy, writes Erik Olin Wright, a sociologist at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
“The powerful interests that are opposed to genuinely restoring ecological balance and seriously dealing with global poverty need to be defeated through political confrontation, rather than simply converted to a more compassionate, ethically grounded mindset.”

There was a saying that was popular when I was growing up… “The only GOOD commie is a DEAD commie!”
Still rings just as true today.
There are near 6.5 billion people in the world today – you can fit all the people in the world, standing up without touching one another in less than half the area of Jacksonville, Florida. Do the math – area of Jacksonville Florida divided by four square feet, even six square feet for more room.
The world produces enough food each year presently to feed six times the worlds population, even with the regional floods, droughts, wars, etc. The world has enough top producing soil to grow 200 times our present yearly harvest, especially if they used more advanced farming techniques like the Germans. Texas, has enough space to give everyone in the world a house on 1/4 acre, with enough space left to grow enough food for over half the worlds population and enough space for schools and parks and businesses.
All the farms, cities, houses, sidewalks, all the manmade structures and living areas, comprise less than 1% of the worlds livable land surface.
Even with regional wars, droughts, famines, these do not even touch what is available for man to use and to survive – again – this world has enough resources to feed, house and supply all mans necessities for over 200 times our present population.
Who championed, supported, introduced, initiated, abortion, homosexuality, contraception, pornography, immodesty in dress, divorce, etc. Who have been indoctrinating our children and peoples for near one hundred years or more into a Marxist/Atheist/ mindset – Bolshevik Jews, who have been attacking Christianity, robbing nations of their wealth, using American and Western young to fight their wars for oil, power and greed.
All the above, all the anti-Christian attacks on morality, abortion, homosexuality, pornography, immodesty in dress, all have been done by Jewish Committee’s, Jewish Organizations, Jewish Lawyers, Jewish Law Firms, Jewish Congressmen (women); Hollywood, in which all six major movie companies are owned by six Jewish families, the major media, 99% owed by six Jewish families, some the same as previous. Even gun control we find Feinstein, Schumer, Boxer, Wasserman, and Bloomberg, among others, mostly Jewish, pushing for gun control. One thing that scares Jewry very much is an armed nation that discovers the truth in time to protect and resurrect itself before they have destroyed it.
And people wonder why those like Bolshevik Jew Paul Ehrlich, have been expelled from over 120 countries, thousands of cities, provinces and kingdoms, unfortunately, like ourselves, much after they have committed their treason, subterfuge, and theft of the wealth of their hosts by these parasites.
I suggest all read “The Plot Against the Church” published in 1962 under the pen name of “Maurice Pinay” by twelve Vatican Theologian/Historians – a book even the Vatican tried unsuccessfully to stop its publication.
In this book, these priests who had been studying documents in the Vatican Archives, in their original languages, discovered the largest conspiracy in history, still ongoing; how the “Marranos” or Secret Crypto Jews, have through the centuries faked conversion to other faiths, mostly Catholic, and under the guise of being Catholic have continued to secretly practice their Jewry and to undermine and work for the destruction of Christianity. How these Marranos/Jews have become Catholic Cardinals, possible two or three recent Catholic Popes, Bishops, Protestant Bishops and Ministers, Pagan Priests, and Islamic Clerics.
Marranos – term given to those Jews in Isabella’s time who faked conversion in order to escape the punishments of their deeds and to work within the Catholic faith and other religions to destroy them. John Kerry, Madeline Albright, General Wesley Clark, for instance, all outed by Investigative Journalists as having come from not only generations, but centuries of Jewry: Geez I didn’t know my parents, siblings, grandparents and family for centuries were Jewish!!!
Nancy Pelosi and her husband come from generations of Argentinian Jews, and their children have married Jews. Supreme Sotomayor, also comes from generations of Latin American Jewry. The Saudi Royal Family, converted from Judaism to Islam at the end of the 1800’s (which anwers a lot of geopolical intrigue). The head of ISIS, Baghdadi, was born and raised a Jew and was a member of MOSSAD and now leads ISIS. (Note: When ISIS members are wounded, they are taken to “Israeli” hospitals, treated, and then released back to their organizations. Israeli, US and British planes have been dropping weapons and supplies to ISIS, all this is fact.

Alexander Solzenitzyn writes in his last book on the history of Russia how the Jews murdered over 66 million Russians, Romanians, Ukrainians, Hungarians, Polish, etc, that all the prison camps, torture chambers, gulags, slave gangs, were all run and officiated by Bolshevik Jews. Read how the “Young Turks” who were all Jews from the same sect as the Saudi family, orchestrated the murder of over 1.5 million Armenians, how the Jews were responsible for the murder of over 20 million Ukrainians under Stalin, how twelve Bolshevik Jews helped Mao murder over 70 million Chinese and establish Communism; how the Jews brag they are the creators of Communism. ‘
