Quick Tip | Cleaning an AK

Published on May 28, 2014 by Polenar Tactical

Useful tip for shooters that have AKs or other rifles with non-chrome lined barrel and shoot corrosive ammo – you can use normal or soapy water to rinse the barrel. This will remove most of the corrosive salts that are water soluble. This can be done on the range as a part of field cleaning or at home with a bore brush.
We highly recommend that you do a normal cleaning and oiling afterwards to prevent it from rusting!
