Thanks for posting this Roy Clark song, “I never picked cotton.” My family is originally from Georgia and I must say that my daddy picked cotton when he was a kid, as well as his mother, brothers and sisters. He said that the women back in those days would have their babies and would be outside picking cotton soon after birth. His father owned a store in the small nearby town.

Roy Clark did some amazing guitar and banjo pickin’ on “Hee Haw” back in the day. He used to set Buck Owens right off the stage with his talent.
