If you have ever had a conversation with a die-hard liberal about the Second Amendment, chances are you have probably been called “paranoid” a time or two (…or fifty).
“What are you talking about? The government is not going to take your guns; I don’t know what you’re so worried about,” I can recall from a particular conversation. “Seriously, you’re just paranoid!”
If having the foresight to recognize that gun registration is not only wildly unconstitutional, but also a convenient means by which the government could use to eventually confiscate firearms makes me “paranoid,” then so be it. However, contrary to the liberal narrative, juvenile insults don’t actually alter reality.
As you know, there is a massive display of civil disobedience happening in Connecticut right now. Over 90% of the gun owners in the Constitution State have refused to comply with new anti-gun regulations; these laws require that all “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines (over ten rounds) be registered as of January 1 of this year.
The state estimated that there are about 372,000 “assault weapons” and over two million “high-capacity” magazines within the state. But when the numbers came in, only about 50,000 “assault weapons” had been registered as well as 38,000 “high-capacity” magazines.
In other words, only about 3.7% of the “scary weaponry” within Connecticut has been registered with the government… meaning that 96.3% of innocent gun owners were considered felons overnight. (Of course, this did not phase them as they are continuing to ignore the so-called law.)
The bureaucrats bent on control didn’t like this so much, you can imagine. They are responding by sending another wave of letters to gun owners giving them “one more chance” to register their weapons with the government.
According to a local newspaper, the Journal Inquirer:
The state now holds signed and notarized letters saying those late applicants own rifles and magazines illegally.
But rather than turn that information over to prosecutors, state officials are giving the gun owners a chance to get rid of the weapons and magazines.
Stated differently, rather than immediately taking hundreds of thousands of gun owners to court over their shiny, new “felony,” the oh-so-benevolent overlords of Connecticut are “graciously” giving them another chance to comply — or else.
Here’s a copy of the letter gun owners received after having “missed” the January 1 deadline: (Click the image to enlarge.)
So, let’s get this straight… Residents in Connecticut have the choice of:
- Complying with blatantly unconstitutional law by threat of government force;
- Selling their weapon to a government-approved dealer;
- Destroying their own guns or magazines;
- Letting someone in a more pro-gun state hold them; or
- Giving it directly to the police.
Talk about “land of the free”!
Can anyone say expo facto?
ex post facto adj. Latin for “after the fact,” which refers to laws adopted after an act is committed making it illegal although it was legal when done, or increases the penalty for a crime after it is committed. Such laws are specifically prohibited by the U. S. Constitution, Article I, Section 9. Therefore, if a state legislature or Congress enact new rules of proof or longer sentences, those new rules or sentences do not apply to crimes committed before the new law was adopted
So, How’s that Constitution working out for ya?
Read what Lysander Spooner wrote about the constitution around 1867.
To the tyrants that want to take our weapons I say only this, “If you try to take my weapons (and freedom), I will kill you.”
First off, good for you the people of Connecticut. As I see I there is still 322,000 that are refusing to register their weapons. Looks like the numbers are in favor of the good citizens of Connecticut. That is a force that has the state quaking in their boots. Keep up the good work, I salute you.
How about this Connecticut, yall have one more chance to repeal your illegal law saying that they cant have their guns.
Gather intel on all the self elect gun grabbers and vote ’em out, sheeya right!
Make a list of all those responsible for drafting and passing all these unconstitutional “laws”(sic), and title the list: “Target”, or “Communists”.
Blast this list with all the evidence that “sandyhook” was a false flag incident; poke holes in the story, that’ll really make ’em mad.
When tyranny comes the only response that is practical is the old adage “USE OR LOOSE”. Hope folks remember their heritage.
Option 5. Hang anyone involved in passing this law on the front lawn of the building that it was passed….twice.
