Special Forces (US Rangers) method of opening velcro without anyone hearing the velcro.
Yep, never heard the velcro.
Best tactic if you choose to use more modern pouches is to NOT utilize velcro on anything that is a first-use item. Keep your first-out items (initial mags, flares, smokes and frags) in snap pouches. After things light up, no one will hear any velcro rips, especially if the bad guys are all dead.

Hated it on hunting clothes too
