A 21 year old man was stopped with his parents in Missouri by traffic Police. He was tasered for 31 seconds and he unfortunately died. Tom Swift was the first journalist on the scene. He’s since researched the weapon and found the manufacturer is misleading Police as to the effects of their electric rifle. 500 people have died from being tasered in the US. It is not a non-lethal weapon. It kills.
It is sold as a 100% safe weapon to the Police. There is no obligatory reporting of death statistics for the weapon. Officers need to be aware that they’re being misled by the manufacturer, and they need proper information about the weapon they’re carrying. They are the ones who collect the blame when something goes wrong.
