The Darlings – Let’s Roll

You’ve got one life to live
Straight ahead, nothing else
Day to day ’till it’s gone
This means everything
When your time to die comes
Will your soul hold regrets
And with friends like these
Memories to hold all the while
Creating new ones to look on and smile
You can see it’s quite obvious
Different choices don’t make sense
Will you stand or will you fold

Let’s roll, let’s roll
Never give them control
They’ve got their money but we’ve got our soul
Let’s roll, let’s roll
Never give them control
They’ve got their money but we’ve got our soul

Here’s to the hard times and the scars that remain
Sometimes I never learn
Makes us who we are when your time to die comes
Never change for this world
And the dust never settles where fire always burns
Search for answers, leave no stones unturned
You can live your life voiceless, pushed by the wayside
We must stand never fold

Let’s roll, let’s roll
Never give them control
They’ve got their money but we’ve got our soul
Let’s roll, let’s roll
Never give them control
They’ve got their money but we’ve got our soul

Roll, roll, roll
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams
Roll, roll, roll
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams

Let’s roll, let’s roll
Never give them control
They’ve got their money but we’ve got our soul
Let’s roll, let’s roll
Never give them control
They’ve got their money but we’ve got our

Roll, roll, roll
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams
Roll, roll, roll
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams
Roll, roll, roll
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams
Roll, roll, roll
Trapped inside of ourselves are our dreams

  1. Dude, like, us fifty-somethings can help you young’uns…
    there is not,
    at this time-space juncture,
    there is not,
in this place, in this life,
a management solution, or a fight, that defeats inevitable
    nuclear-radiation-fallout-death.
    I watch RT,
and you got to dig the spirit, the truth of the idealistic ones.
    but!
“Let’s Roll” is sorta a suicide-charge yell like “Banzai!”
The use of “Dreams” in this lyric, it seems for thoughtful youth,
the Pink Floyd lyric is more apt-
    “What did you Dream?…
It’s alright, we told you what to Dream…
    so welcome
    to the
    Machine”
Read up about current rad levels in your local area.
    it is even government data!
nobody wants to Know, nuke rad sickness and death
    are upon us.
We have kids with thyroid tumors, unresearched and unreported
public health crisis. For your own self, Hometown examples:
How many Birth Defects, Miscarriages, Stillbirths, infant cancers?
Thyroid, other endocrine, leukemia, nuke-related disorders?
There is criminal lack of data dissemination.
The Corporate lying money is Huge, and they still push nukes.
    The oceans are
dying. Particularly the Pacific. Even RT continues to carry the ball
for a dominant “global warming” story, while ignoring Fukushima,
and Ukraine, which is Jeremiah 9:15 in the KJV, “wormwood”.
Please learn up, my good folks!

    1. So what then? Give up? Go down compliant? No defeatism here. Yes, everything you mentioned is a horrible threat, but with so many waking up and getting enraged, hope still remains. I come across reports of people protesting and actually blocking the building of cell towers. A drop in the bucket, you might say, but many drops will add up. I mean, what would I tell my grandkids? Grandma did nothing?!! Yes, I have grandkids.

On Fukushima, there are some tireless activists who have been pushing for solution, one proposal being the building of a sarcophagus above and below to halt the leak. Fukushima really is one of the biggest problems we face, and half the battle is fighting the corruption at the helm, the energy giants. Maybe it is too late, but better than doing nothing is to at least try.

      As for dreams…

Here is a list of 25 people who did great things after fifty. Some of their deeds (like Mao’s communistic mass slaughter) are infamous, black stains on humanity, and some, as listed here, may not be true, as we know the history books lie. Still, some are incredible accomplishments:

When The Bill of Rights and The Common Law are restored, brick-by-brick, the wall gets dismantled and the management of their lives is returned to the people. It will not be easy to get there, and there will be great sacrifice and suffering. It looks insurmountable, but the alternative of slavery looks even worse.

So, to borrow a line from the song: Will you stand or will you fold? I say, pick one thing, just one thing out of the daunting list of wrongs to address, and give yourself to that cause. Every time one person decides to do that, hope rises.

Now I’m going to listen to that song again and get fired up, get my commitment renewed, remember my soul. Wanna listen with me?

      🙂

      .

      1. Don’t think you or the other person gets it.
Message is simple. Stay true to yourself and don’t give yourself away to politicians or the Oligarchy. Sounds pretty hopeful actually. And pissed off as they no we should be. Ourselves they can’t take away from us. We will always be who we are. Try to stay human though life pushes you to the edge. In the end when it all inevitably goes to shit, at least I will know that I never turned my back on humanity. I stayed human. F!@k. What else is there?

        1. When a song lyric asks: Will you stand or will you fold?… How it speaks to me may be different than how it speaks to you. I placed it in present-day challenges, extreme challenges, and it turns out that it’s the very question of the day: Who will fight for freedom and who will succumb to slavery? Song asks: Will you fight of will you fold?
