The Fruit Of The Hour

World Events and the Bible – by David Watson

Digging a hole
In these dark times
Plotting evil, committing crimes
While arrogance is a joyous delight
Our vanity destroys our life

Believing our selves to be wise
Seeing not that we are blind
Selfish, boasters, proud distorters
Rationalizing what we do is just fine
Integrity has been cast aside

WE can find a speck
In others eyes
But, for ourselves we’ll trivialize
We’ll say anything
To get what’s desired
We’ll pervert what is righteous
We’ll malign a man’s honor
And we’ll do it for greed
Or we’ll do it for power
In these dark days
In these dark hours

Making decisions
We live the life
We dig the holes
And climb inside

We say, “God is a myth”
And “We’ll build our own towers”
Who can resist
The fruit of the hour
The time is nigh
And it’s getting darker
And soon we will witness
The power of Our Father
And how we lived
Is how we’ll die
Because vanity destroyed our lives
