The Moody Blues — I’m Just A Singer

Published on Feb 4, 2013 by Michalis Limassol

I’m just a wandering on the face of this earth
Meeting so many people
Who are trying to be free
And while I’m traveling I hear so many words

Language barriers broken
Now we’ve found the key
And if you want the wind of change
To blow about you
And you’re the only other person to know, don’t tell me
I’m just a singer in a rock and roll band.

A thousand pictures can be drawn from one word
Only who is the artist
We got to agree
A thousand miles can lead so many ways

Just to know who is driving
What a help it would be
So if you want this world of yours
To turn about you
And you can see exactly what to do
Please tell me
I’m just a singer in a rock and roll band.

How can we understand
Riots by the people for the people
Who are only destroying themselves
And when you see a frightened
Person who is frightened by the
People who are scorching this earth.

I’m just a wandering on the face of this earth
Meeting so many people
Who are trying to be free
And while I’m traveling I hear so many words

Language barriers broken
Now we’ve found the key
And if you want the wind of change
To blow about you
And you’re the only other person to know, don’t tell me
I’m just a singer in a rock and roll band.

How can we understand
Riots by the people for the people
Who are only destroying themselves
And when you see a frightened
Person who is frightened by the
People who are scorching this earth.

Music is the traveller crossing our world
Meeting so many people bridging the seas
I’m just a singer in a rock and roll band.
We’re just the singers in a rock and roll band.
I’m just a singer in a rock and roll band…

  1. Yes LesPaulPlayer, they just do not make music like they used to. I used to listen to a lot of these guys. I haven`t heard or listened to any Moody Blues now for some time and they are as good as ever. Great Post thanks 😉

    1. Hey my pleasure Diggerdan 🙂 Looks like you’re like me and need to get a turntable. I have a lot of the good old albums sitting in the basement. Be great to hear them again. 😉

  2. Awesome song Les!

Another set of goodies, Tuesday Afternoon, Knights in White Satin, I Know You’re Out there Somewhere. I was very young in the 70’s, but love the music of that era. 🙂 Thanks for the memories Les!

Night all, it’s getting late here.

    1. You are welcome Deb glad you liked. I have most of their albums and there is not one bad song on any of them. Great make-out music back in the day 😉 Ahh memories 🙂

  3. Maybe that’s why Knights in White Satin stands out, I recall a school dance and a boy named er never mind… LOL 😉
