A train has been stopped in Sylmar after a conductor found what he believed to be some kind of bomb, police said Wednesday.
The Union Pacific train was stopped at 2 p.m. at Roxford Street and San Fernando Road (map), according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im.
The conductor checked train No. 7363 and found what he believed to be an “IED,” Im said.
The LAPD bomb squad was en route.
It was not immediately clear what the train was carrying or if the device was on the train or the tracks.
Aerial video from Sky5 showed the front of the train was stopped under the transition road bridge from the northbound 5 Freeway to the eastbound 210 Freeway.
That’s some really crummy photography. Power lines and trees in the way…can’t see a darn thing. Bet the Koch Brothers are pissed that their bomb didn’t go off.
At this point, it could be someone’s missing lunchbox, but there’s no telling which way this might go.
Blame it on domestic terrorists?
Aren’t biker gangs domestic terrorists, too?
We MAY be being set up for a new domestic terrorist crackdown, and it wouldn’t be too surprising at this stage of the game.
It’s anything BUT a genuine attempt to blow up a freight train, because that wouldn’t serve any sensible purpose. Anyone who is likely to blow something up has a long list of better targets.
OHMYGODIT’SISIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
