Trencher Alert: Darzak will be going home soon

Update 10 – 4-13-18: Darzak will be released from rehab on 4/19/18. He will have to go to rehab 2-3 days a week. We still are not sure about his foot. Dr. Goldstein (name means what? Can we trust? No!) wants to amputate, but we are going for a 2nd opinion.

Please continue praying for his foot, as we both believe the Lord can and will do miracles, and we want to keep the foot.

Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I am not sure that I could have made it through this time without all of you! So much love and support. Thank you and I love all of you.

Jill

Update 9 – 4-6-18: Praise! We give Jesus all the glory! All the blood clots in Darzak’s heart are gone. They were able to shock his heart today and slow it down to 98. Previously it was 135-150. Looks like sometime Monday they will be moving him to rehab.

Our God is so good!

Update 8 – 4-1-18: This update is from the nurses as we are too sick to visit him.  Happy Resurrection Day!

Plans for this weekend:  get him off blood pressure medication, wean him totally off B pap machine.  They have been putting him on it for panic attacks.  They are hoping for a swallow test on Monday, so possibly he can start drinking liquids.  Right now he only gets ice chips.  PT went well today but he is still weak.

Visitors are welcome as long as you are not sick.  I think he would benefit from friends!  Still some confusion.  Praise the Lord for all He has done this weekend!

Update 7 – 3-29-18: This weekend they have been trying to take Darzak out of the medically induced coma.  On Monday they stopped the pain medication and he is opening his eyes on command.  He is also able to move both right and left arms, and right and left legs.  They have also been asking him questions that he nods or shakes his head, as he is still on the ventilator.

I do not think he has brain damage, because I told him that he would probably love country music when he got out, as that is what they have playing in the background.  The nurse asked him if he liked country music and he shook his head no.

They are doing breathing treatments to see if he is able to be removed from the ventilator.  Sometime this week it looks like he may be removed.  His heart rate is still in the 138 to 140 range, and it needs to be at 60-100.  His white blood cell count is up, and they are treating for an infection.

Overall he is making baby steps this week which is very good.  He still has a long way to go.  They are just watching his right foot as it still does not have a strong pulse and is purple to black.  The foot may recover or he may have to have part of it removed.  We are just taking in day by day.

Thank you for all of your prayers, thoughts, and support.  We love all of you!  Jill

Update 6 – 3-21-18: Ecmo machine removed today. Praise the Lord! Numbers are down. Still on ventilator and heart pump. Still in medically induced coma. He looks better than he did yesterday.

God is so good! I love all of you! Jill

Update 5 – 3-19-18: Today I was called at 6:45 am. They needed to take Darzak into surgery as his numbers for kidney and liver were rising and the pump needed to be moved a little. This pump is in his groin area.

I arrived at the hospital and could not believe how bad he looked. He was very swollen and his right arm had so much fluid in it, it looked like it could burst.

The Doctor rushed Darzak into emergency surgery for internal bleeding at 1:00pm. He was finally out of surgery at 6:30. The swelling has gone down a little, but now they are concerned he might bleed out in the groin area. The area where the blood comes out to go to the life support machine for oxygen had pooled and was causing the fluid in the arm.

They have stopped all blood thinners, and are using drugs to paralyze his body so that he will not move. Hopefully the are of the incision will clot. They do not want him to move at all, thus the drugs for paralyzing his body, so that his blood clots in both his heart and lungs will not move to the brain.

His kidneys are till producing, but the liver is a concern now. Also the pulse in his right foot is not coming back completely and they are concerned about that. He is alive, but no other updates at this time.

Thanks for all the encouragement. Jill

Update 4 – 3-18-18: Thank you for all the prayers. Prayer is very powerful.

On the 17th they took Darzak off of dialysis. They also stopped the lasix drip. His kidneys are producing urine, but he lost 12 pounds of fluid overnight. They are now replacing the electrolytes and fluid. His left foot has a pulse, the right foot has a very small pulse, but they are giving him heat packs on the foot to try to get the pulse back. The biggest praise: He has been in A Fib ever since he got to the emergency room on Tuesday, and we do not know how long before that. The pump has started working that they installed. At 3:50AM his heart rate dropped to 80. He has had a few episodes where the heart goes back up to 130 but it seems to correct itself and go back into the 80’s. So his heart rhythm may be going back to normal!

I am told he is still very, very sick but is making baby steps. The Lord is working in this situation. I am learning so many things from Him regarding this, and the support and caring from everyone is amazing. I really appreciate all the phone calls, emails, texts, and comments on From the Trenches. You are an amazing group of friends!

Darzak and I love all of you. Jill

Update 3 – 3-17-18: The latest update on Darzak is: He is still on full life support and in the medically induced coma. He is still on dialysis. They have called in the vascular specialist as he is not getting almost any pulse in his right foot and very low in his left foot. He will receive more blood today. His white count is good, his hemoglobin is ok, his kidney numbers are up, his heart rate is still high, and now he has high blood pressure rather than lower. They will be adjusting his blood pressure medication to bring that down. Still taking it hour by hour.

Thank you so much for all the thoughts and prayers. Jesus is in control of this situation and I am crying out to him as His Word tells us to. I will update as I have any news.

Darzak and I love all of you, Jill

Update 2 – 3-15-18: Today Darzak was put on dialysis. Then they were going to shock his heart to help with the A-fib as his heart rate is so high due to not working properly. They were not able to do this as he has blood clots in his heart. So, then they were going to install two pumps to pump for his heart so that it could rest. He had the left one installed, which pumps the blood, but they were not able to install the right one because his lungs filled with fluid. They did get the left one installed and he was having blood pumped into his body. Praise!

He is currently in a medical induced coma, at least for the next 7 days and on a machine that breathes for him, pumps his heart, and takes his blood and adds oxygen to it. He is far from out of the woods, but Praise the Lord, he is alive. I will update as I can.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and comments. I will pass them on to Darrell as soon as he is awake. The Doctor told me only 2 out of 3 people this sick come through this surgery, but he is still alive.

Someone wanted his snail mail address. It is Darrell or Jill Zaneski. PO Box 193. Atlanta, IN 46031.

Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, and support. Darzak and I love you all. Jill

Update – 3-14-18:  Darzak was moved to another hospital and will be treated in the critical care unit. He had a heart cath and a balloon pump installed tonight. The kidney doctors were called in, as getting them going is the priority. The liver is also failing, along with the kidneys, heart, and lungs. Darzak is conscious and prepared to meet the Lord if the treatments do not work. I do not have any other updates at this time.

3-14-18: Please pray for Darzak.  He has been admitted to the hospital and has blood clots in both his lungs.  I will update  when I have more info.  He was sick for 5 days and thought he had a cough and the flu.  They are treating him for heart issues due to this as well.  All thoughts and prayers for him are appreciated.  Thanks, Jill

      1. THANKS GUYS,
MY DOC SAID I WOULD BE FINE YESTERDAY……………….
        PRAYERS WORK………..
HEAVENLY FATHER, UPLEASE RESTORE OUR BROTHER DARZAK TO HIS ROLE IN THE EARTHLY KINGDOM OF GOD, WHICH IN THIS WORLD IS A CHURCH OF CHRIST, THE BODY AND FOUNDATION OF THE TRUTH.
HEAVENLY FATHER, REMIND OUR RETHREN THAT GOD NO LONGER HINGES SALVATION ON RACE , FAMILY OR POLITICAL AMBITION, BUT SEES NO DIFFERENCE IN THE SO CALLED JEW, OR GENTILE, AND IS NOW NO RESPECTER OF PERSONS,. REQUIRING ALL OF THE FAMILY OF MAN TO REPENT, AND BE BAPTIZED IN JESUS’ NAME FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS………”22 So Paul stood in the midst of the [a]Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I observe that you are very SUPERSTITIOUS 23 For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you. 24 The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25 nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; 26 and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, 27 that they would seek THE LORD, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and [b]exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ 29 Being then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man. 30 Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, 31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge [c]the world in righteousness [d]through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men [e]by raising Him from the dead.”…….
“38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

  9. #1 I was thinking the same thing. Had a short stay in one a few months back. They f*d me up royally. Took me several months to come out of it. Still in pretty bad shape. Don’t know if I will ever fully recover.

  14. Peace, brother.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 KJ

  15. That is encouraging news, Jill. Stay positive. Keep Strong. Sending healing thoughts, love, and pryers to you both.

  18. “He has had a few episodes where the heart goes back up to 130 but it seems to correct itself and go back into the 80’s. So his heart rhythm may be going back to normal!”

80 is good. My heart rate dropped clear down to 30 in a hospital in Lake Isabella, back in the early 80’s. They said if it dropped below 28, I was dead. Luckily it didn’t. (3 tries with nitroglycerin didn’t work, either, it took liquid Valium to calm me down after that, and it did the trick).

Praying for a full recovery, Darzak. There’s no place on Earth I’d rather NOT be.

I would actually rather be back in L.A. than in a hospital ANYWHERE, and you all know how much I hate THAT hellhole.

  19. Sounds like somebody upstairs is watching Darsak. Thank God for the improvements. Unbelievable how your healthy one minute, the next minute your on life support.

Hang tight brother, your doing just fine.

  20. that is great news. you keep getting better Darzak and I will keep on praying for you and Jill.Gods speed.

  21. Darsak is a fighter no doubt about that, most couldn’t handle what he’s going through.

  22. Jill, still got you and Darzak in prayer. Keep casting ALL your care upon Him because He cares for your.

  23. Be passionate with Jesus tonight. Talk to him. Tell him how you love him. Prayer is gods greatest gift.

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good thing, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

    ~ Psalm 103:1-5

  24. Im not really sure if this is an appropriate place to put this , if not , please delete (ok Henry?)

Lately I feel like I’m standing in the middle of a war zone , and watching all my very good tried and true friends die all around me .
and if its not them , its their spouse or a very close family member that i also knew very well

This past year alone, I’m past 4 that I have lost , and I have one right now fighting for his life in Florida with stage 4 cancer , a sick Father in law , and My very own Mom that has Dementia

I dont do well hearing about my fellow man and patriots that are struggling with illness or death
My many prayers to all of you , and any of you who may be having a hard time or dealing with illness , or the passing of a loved one

Staying strong, and keeping the nose to the grind stone has its days lately, as i grow older .

please everyone .. take good care of yourself , and those you love
its a short time we get to spend here , and there needs to be a few more roses to sniff along the way .. even if we have to be the ones to plant those roses

All my positive prayers to all of you in the Trenches with me ..

    1. I wish the evils of cancer or heart failure on none. Please remove my response if it doesn’t belong here.

I believe I am witnessing the rapture. I too am hearing countless stories of people losing loved ones to all kindas of evils. I lost someone very dear to over 10 years ago and it hurts worse than anyone can imagine but I go out the door every day the sun comes up knowing I have to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Help thy neighbor. Spend 5 minutes playing clash royale and spend 5 minutes reading the bible. Smile. Whistle. Tell your lord and the people around the world that you love them.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
      1 Peter 5:10

Please say this prayer for brother Darzak

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
      2 Corinthians 1:3-4

    2. Thank you EotS, very heart felt words you spoke that touch the heart. I’m going to make a greater effort to pray more and the Trenchers will be a part of those prayers. 🙂

  25. It is a shame he would have to go to panama to get intravenous juvenile stem cell treatment. 3-9 days and he would be 35 again.
    Dont give up brother!

  26. Last night I fought with my keyboard trying to find the words or the right scripture to capture my feelings for a man i’ve never met. Those words never came. So I prayed. I prayed. Darzak brother…keep fighting to come home.

I’ll admit that I play the odd poker game, drink the odd beer and sometimes live in fear. This website brings me hope and joy. Real people that remind me of my parents that just want to earn an honest living.

Before every winning poker pot dragged, every bottle cap discarded and every meal I eat. Darzak’s name will be on my lips. I can breathe air and can walk this earth thank you, lord. Please give the strength to my brother Darzak.

This Easter weekend please I’m begging every Trencher to do the same. God bless you all and your family over this Easter weekend.

    1. Wow, how one’s man’s suffering can lift another. It’s like a miracle.

Hang tough, v4arc, and thanks for the encouragement.

Prayers continue for Darzak, although it seems he’s praying for us.

      🙂

      .

  27. Thank you for very much for the updates.
Will be praying for you, Jill and Darzak.

    Blessings,

  28. If anyone else suspect heart problems, maybe that angina is a heart attack? I DO want to SCARE YOU. But I Have advice. I know you won’t go to the doctor cause you can’t afford it. SO fix your nutrition instead, and do it like your life depends on it, guess what, it does now.

So, my simple advice add/eat a carrot, apple and a beet raw every day.
reduce the amounts you eat, if it’s gonna slam your glycemic index
Nutrients to add at minimum: D3 5000iu, Magnesium Citrate, Liposomic C

You can expand it any way you want.

Now the bad news, you can never have these (unless you want to die/get sick/fat again)
Wheat, Beer, Whiskey, Alcohol, Combusted Smoke, Soda I am keeping the list simple. Most everything in my home had to be thrown out. I Mean seriously, if you can’t grow it or hunt it it probably don’t belong in your mouth.

I never in a million years would believe I was gonna be a non-smoker, non-drinker, always fussing about carbs. But here we are.. But my bodyweight is super-duper, and I feel like a million bucks, not like dying in five years.

Also as time goes on (almost four years now), I now find a challenge to reverse engineer grandma’s old recipes to something that isn’t POISON in modern times.

I too am watching in HORROR as my friends and aquaintences are dying because of the horrible diet and things that go down their mouths. We really have embraced the “deadly food pyramid” and “peer pressure for most the bad stuff.” There doesn’t seem to be a way to get my friends to actually understand how important that beet, apple and carrot is each morning. Not to mention all the other bad stuff we do. (when I quit I got all the quits at the same time, alcohol, smoke, sugars Makes you ANGRY– have a plan/hobbie/something for that anger–pro tip.)

May God bless Darzak hope he recovers like I did (the lucky few??)

  29. I dont post much, as I am not online often these days, but I will say this..

The V.A. and other doctors tried to kill me for years with pain/anxiety medication. I found a way to be free of it all with zero side effects and a super immune system. Research – Uncaria tomentosa, and ac-11. I do not give advice, but I can say I now take zero pharma drugs, and haven’t taken ill in two years, not even a cold.. I take a multvitamin, eat what I grow, and the above mentioned supplement and am good to go. It is cheap, easy to find, and works…

May it help you as it did me..

    1. Yep,

I just took some excellent advice from Henry, started walking every morning. When I was a teen, I excersied daily, then I quit. Next came the cancer, nerve damage, lazy mans desease and sleepless nights. That walk in the morning is like a gift from God…

  30. Thank God, Darzak is a beacon of light. The man is one strong brother, damned strong. God almighty! Time for a get together!

  31. Psalms 103: 1-4
“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
    Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;”……

  32. Prayer works all right! And when it’s a whole lot more than two people…

God bless you all. And thanks for all the updates. Awesome.

  33. And speaking of walks, once or twice a week I walk about three miles, much of it uphill.

Another health booster: codyceps, made from some kind of mushroom that grows in Tibet or something. You can buy it in several places but Aloha Medicinals is where we get it from.

  34. “… we want to keep the foot.”

If it’s due to infection, colloidal silver can fix it. The doctors won’t agree, but they’re allopathic idiots, so they know nothing of naturopathic cures.

  35. Home sweet home brother! I sprayed silver into a fourteen inch incision to prevent infection, no stitches open wound. Use it for your foot, drink it daily.

Your the man Darzak, very few can endure what you just went through. Unbelievable.
