WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – President Donald Trump has ordered US regulators to streamline and accelerate the process for approving genetically engineered agricultural products, the White House said in a press release.
“Today, President Trump is signing an executive order directing Federal agencies to streamline the agricultural biotechnology regulatory processes,” the release said on Tuesday.
In the text of the executive order, Trump said federal oversight of agricultural biotechnology products must be science-based, timely, and efficient. The executive order covers plant or animal products developed through genetic engineering or through the targeted “in vivo or in vitro manipulation of genetic information.” Such products are also referred to as genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
The order, according to the White House, will help eliminate delays, reduce developer costs, and provide greater certainty about the review process for farmers.
According to a US Agricultural Department fact sheet, agricultural biotechnology includes a range of tools including traditional breeding techniques that alter living organisms to make products and improve plants.
The release added that the Department of Agriculture had only processed an average of five petitions to approve new crops each year from 1993 through 2017.

I tell myself: Refuse their poison!! Grow as much as you can of your own food. Don’t forget windowsills are great for growing lettuce and micro greens. Shop at farmer’s markets. Trade with neighbors. I do what I can to step around the toxic garbage but it’s everywhere and oh so hard to avoid. I bet they serve organic at Mar a Largo.

We buy organic (expensive or not) pretty much almost exclusively if it is available (and since the nearest HEB is about 150 miles away…thank God our local supermarkets know that most folks around here demand organic, pricey or not). And I love corn–but unless it’s certified non-GMO I will not eat it! And of course we grow our organic garden in May through October.
I tell folks this all the time–since the criminal psycho elites can afford to eat organic 24-7, they couldn’t care less if us “useless eaters” die from GMO food.
Folks want to know why Tom Brady is still winning Super Bowls at age 42–because he eats nothing but organic! I don’t care if he’s wealthy–he’s got the right idea.
