Air Force vet Ted Koran waited ten minutes until he hung up – he was saved by the affection of the dogs he rescues and works with. The Veterans Crisis Hotline was first set up by the VA in 2007.
“When you’ve got a veteran who calls the suicide hotline -someone who put their life on the line for this country – and they say, ‘Please hold,’” says talk show host Jerry Doyle, “Something is seriously, seriously wrong.”
